Staff was nice but things were a little chaotic when we were there, with a large group struggling to be accomodated. That being said the cabin was quite nice with its own bathrooms, if only a little cobwebby. But, it grew on me as I stayed. Would go there again but just be aware it truly is a cabin and its a little shabby, but good value for iceland. Grounds are grassy and you can walk to a view of the river. Convenience stores nearby.

Stayed here as part of a group tour over NYE and it was a perfect location to see the Northern Lights, surrounded by snow and fir trees. However,  even knowing that a big party of us were staying there was no one in reception when we arrived at night and so we had to drag our luggage through the deep snow in the freezing cold and the dark trying to find which cabin we were in - They could have at least left the lights on and cleared a pathway. Once inside some of the group didn't have power, light or heating and 1 didn't have a stove, just wires coming out of the wall. We stayed 1 night and then went to the nearby hotel. Very disappointed.

Great location and restaurant but poor facilities 

This place is in dire need of repair. I was there with a tour and we stayed in the cottages. My cabin had no cold water out of the faucet in the bathroom, my friend’s cabin next to me had a non-locking front door, and another friend had a non-locking front door, a shower head that was held up with duct tape and a string, and a broken radiator. You were given one large bath towel, no hand towels or washcloths. There are no paper towels or anything you would have needed in the kitchenette area either. The main restaurant had a door that stayed locked due to disrepair, and you had to knock on the window to be able to get in. The property itself could be very nice, but clearly there is no TLC going into it at this time.

In need of maintenance!

When we arrived there was a note stating to check in at the restaurant.  The restaurant was closed due to flooding or something.  Luckily we ran in to some other travelers who had called the establishment.  We were told the door to our room was open and to just go in.  The room was fine, not great, but fine.  However, the shower didn't drain so you had to turn the water off while showering or you would flood the floor.  The piece holding the handheld shower head was broken so you had to hold it.  The rain shower was not that great.  The floor is slippery when coming out of the shower and there was no bath mat and no extra towel to put on the floor.

Had some issues

Stayed on this cabin, 2 beds, a toilet and showers and kitchen , it was a night well spent.
All the cabin was clean, the view was awesome.
The only problem i had is that i couldn't connect to Wi-Fi.

It is worth to pass by and rest well

Warm and cozy

We booked this room by pictures we saw on a hotel booking site.  The accommodations are nothing like the pictures showed.  They were deplorable. Fortunately for them, we could not get our money back because the reservation was non refundable.

Look for another place to stay,

The wooden cabins are basic but cosy - the radiator keeps the cabin space comfortably warm. The beds were comfy giving a good night's sleep. The bathroom is small and the shower simple, but the shower curtain leaked the shower water onto the bathroom floor. Fortunately there was a drain in the bathroom floor to deal with the overflow.  Essential that you carry a torch at night to light your way to and from the carpark.

Basic and Cosy

We stayed as part of GJ travel tour and I enjoyed staying at this place, I felt very comfortable here. They have a little kitchenette in the cabins and the heating is really warm. Beds were comfortable, although could do with new pillows. And there is a little table with 2 chairs in the room. The shower was a bit strange as it wouldn't stay the same temperature and kept having to adjust it. I loved the location of being right on the lake and we were able to see the northern lights from our room. It is a budget place so it's not luxurious or anything but it does the job and I would stay here again if I ever went to Iceland again.

Cute and cozy

We were a group of eighteen people who had booked some weeks before to spend one night at Cafe Arhus. Some of us was given a room with bathroom while others, less lucky, were assigned a really small room with only bunk beds and no bathroom or toilet at all. The site provided an outside facility with shared toilets, showers and sinks, but it was not this clean and comfortable and the chilly air did not suggest to take a shower and then walk towards your own room wearing only a shower robe. Another structure provided tables and hobs but it was not so comfortable as well and the number of tables largely exceeded the number of stoves, so that it‘s been quite impossible for us to warm the water and make some tea due to the little time we had if we wanted to follow the roadmap.

Almost a postcard, but that’s all

What a terrible place... dirty, smelly, old, moldy,... I ca just go on! The cabins are in wood and rotting, the furniture is from the 1970s, the toilets are in terrible status... not even free one should here! Also we are a family of 5 and the cabin is for max 4 people...but we reserved for 5!
