One of the worst shelter in the world,with an very arrogant owner,always unclean and stinky! Staff is the same! If you go there with a group and someone whant to eat something different,the owner says: you eat what I give you! All rooms are dirty and smelly and if you ask for some help later in the night there’s nobody! This shelter must be close how soon is possible! Everything what’s in the plate for dinner or breakfast it’s almost expired so it’s very dangerous for your health guys! Totally do not recommended!

We eventually stayed at Hotel Raudaskrida after having to move the dates three times with the host Harrald. He was so obliging with this. We had a lovely friendly welcome on arrival. The room was very large, comfortable and very clean. We had a beautiful meal in the evening. Harrald even woke us up to see the Northern Lights- which we had not really expected to see in August. The breakfast spread was incredible, with loads of homemade bread, jam, and cakes- yoghurts, cereals , as well as traditional meat and cheese platters. Thank you so much to Harrald and Begga for our best stay out of the whole week of travelling round the ring road!. If we go to Iceland again, we will definitely book this lovely property.

Amazing hosts and Hotel!

Outstanding facility, wonderful staff as well as excellent food at the restaurants - both breakfast and dinner.  Best panne chocolate outside of France!  It was great to have a house wine option that you could purchase in 250 or 500cl quantities - and other the house white and red were solid wines.  The room was spacious, clean and comfortable.  Although quite rural, the location was very centrally located to the “diamond circle” and easy to find.  We used it as our base for the North.  The staff was great about warning us when large tour groups would descend on breakfast or dinner.  Good to make reservations for dinner to be safe.

Excellent hotel and restaurant in a great location for exploring the North.

Very nice welcoming. Spacious room, cleen, big bathroom, room with a view. Good breakfast and a very good dinner. Service very good. There are hot tubes that we did not use but we were offered bathrobes if we wanted to use the hot tubes. We would recommend this place to people who are looking for quiet and peaceful place. Nature is wonderful in this area.

Really cosy place in a beautiful area, very calm and peaceful. The owners are super nice and the breakfast amazing! We were only there for one night on our way to town but we will definitely be back when we go north again.

Really nice place in a beautiful area.

We had nightover in family friendly hotel. It was surprice to see how short distance is between Husavik and Akureyri so this was very good plase to stay at on our travel to Akureyri. Our room was very clean , spacious with private batroom. 

During the night we enjoyed the silence away from the hustle and bustle of bigger towns and car noises.

We had free WiFi, free parking almost 1.5 m from our bedroom, so we didn't need to walk more than 3 steps to get inside. That's probably a good option for some people. Tv had limited channels , but most of us use an ipad or a smartphone so WiFi was fine for us.

Top of our stay was the super friendly staff. They served the breakfast with pleasure. we had an excellent brekfast and our kids enjoyed the play room on the 2nd floor. After breakfast we got to meet and feed thrir bunny, Lulli, with one of the owners. 


One of the the best

A true gem in the north, everything about our stay was phenomenal. Cannot recommend this place enough. It was clean, cozy with big & comfortable beds. The owners were so helpful and generous; nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast is also something not be missed with big variety of options. Thank you for your hospitality, we will return again as soon as possible.

A perfect stay

One of the most beautiful experiences in Iceland because you can feel the hospitality of an Icelandic family. We had to wake up at 6am because our flight so the breakfast was closed but they still prepared the breakfast for us, that is hospitality not like in big hotels where they don't care. Thank you so much family, we'll come back to your place :) Everything was perfect, rooms really clean and comfortable, beautiful views and the food was amazing! Rewards from your Spanish family. Lovely place and lovely owners

Can't say enouhg about the warmth of this inn, the owners and the staff.  Our small group tour stayed several evenings and so very much enjoyed dining in their restaurant.  The rooms were very clean and very pleasant considering the rural setting.  A traveler would not be disappointed staying here.

Charming family owned and operatred hotel/lodge and restaurant

A friendly,  clean and efficiently run hotel. 
A little off the beaten track,  but in our opinion worth this small detour. 
Very clean and pleasant rooms. Friendly stuff and ver tasty food.
