Touring the south ,  slept with the family .  Great hospilality and super friendly .  Beds very comfy , kitchen nice and rooms a good size .  Perfect after a long day hiking and then the blue Lagoon ,  10 min away and a must!   Thanks and hasta pronto!  Near by atractions ! 

Great stop between trips .. 

On our last night in Iceland, we stayed here as it was close to the airport.  The young woman who checked us in was very helpful and friendly and let us choose the room we wanted.  She also left fresh bread for us. We picked one room on the lower floor of the guesthouse.  We were the only ones on that floor which ended up feeling a bit creepy at times, like being in The Shining.  But overall, we had a nice large room with a kitchen and bathroom all to ourselves.  It was comfortable and very quiet.  Good for a night?  Yes.  More than that? Probably not.

Good for one night

The four persons room is simple and clean with comfortable beds. It has an own kitchen but the toilet and the shower are shared. All the ingredients for the breakfast are in the kitchen. You have to prepare your own breakfast. Very friendly owner who gives a lot of information.

Simple and clean guesthouse

After camping for several days in the typical rainy fall weather, we spent our last night in Iceland at Lagafell Guesthouse. The owner and I had a great chat about the Réttir (the annual sheep round up that happens in villages around the country) which we had just come from. She also gave us some great advice on when the northern lights would happen. The room was very roomy and nicely decorated. The shared kitchen was well stocked and the breakfast selection was adequate. The bathrooms could use an update, but they were clean.

Very clean and a good place to walk to the local Netto grocery store. 

The lady Margaret who runs the place is very helpful with suggesting places to eat and tours around the area. 

It was very reasonable as I paid €97 for two nights with my own room and a shared bathroom. Margaret just showed me the fridge and said I could use anything I wanted for breakfast. There was cereal, toast, ham, cheese and nice coffee.  

It’s easy to find on the Main Street in the town. 

I’m glad I found the place and felt safe here. 

A neat little hostel close to everything 

Stayed at Lagafell Guesthouse for one night as we had an early morning flight. The owner was really helpful and friendly and gave us lots of information on what to see in the area. The guesthouse is comfortable and in the centre of Grindavik. It is a 10 minute drive from the Blue Lagoon and 15 or 20 minutes from the airport. The breakfast is self service which is handy if you need to leave early. Would definitely stay here again.
