We stayed for two nights here and it was perfect ! We stayed primarily to visit the blue lagoon which is only about a 10 minutes drive away ! We had a lovely warm welcome and were shown to our room( by Annita’s nephew I think ?? He was lovely)  which was massive and looked like it had recently been done up !! Kitchen and bathroom facilities were amazing with two separate bathrooms with showers and a kitchen with microwave, hob and a big fridge !!

They also have two very cute dogs :)))

We loved it !

We'd had a long first day of traveling and sightseeing after entering Iceland, and we stayed at Anita's Guesthouse. We were greeted by Anita upon arrival and she was very kind to show us to the lower level of the house where the guest quarters are located. We had the first room inside the door, and it was great for our stay. There are two shared bathrooms, and I believe 3 or 4 rooms total at the guesthouse. We wanted to stay somewhere relatively close to the Fagradalsfjall volcano so we could easily drive there to hike the next morning. This was great for that!

There is a small kitchen with some breakfast food available and a stove and kitchenware to cook if wanted.

Would recommend this as a place to say for people passing through!

Nice Stay!

We only stayed for one night and had some complications while booking. We first were gonna stay with only two persons, but changed it last minute to three. This didn't get through. When we arrived we only had a two-person room. We called the owner and explained everything. She came down and resolved "the problem" immediately. 

The place was easy to enter, it was clean, great beds and Anita was super friendly. We definitely would recommend to stay here and explore the nature around Grindavík!

Lovely stay at Anita's

Since our layover was 26hrs long in Iceland we decided to stay somewhere near Blue Lagoon to spend our time the day of our long flight home. Anita’s guesthouse was very comfortable. Anita’s son I’m assuming? Answered the door and was very kind to show us our living arrangement. We never met Anita or saw anyone after that. We did see others staying in the guesthome and were impressed with the overall home itself. I guess my only reason for rating 3/5 was that on there website it says they do pickups for a fee. When we contacted the property we asked about being picked up after we landed at the airport- we were answered with “nobody will be available then.” That’s fine I get it, but why put that on the website? After that it went downhill trying to get transportation to our guesthome. The bus drivers in Iceland seemed to be so rude to us. We waited hours at a bus stop just to be told we got dropped off at the wrong one.. we finally had a nice girl call a taxi for us but overall we were already frustrated. Probably won’t be back to Iceland but recommend figuring out an alternate transportation to getting around the town, it can be confusing.

One night stay for long layover

We booked our last night here so we were near the airport (25km) and it gave us time to visit Reykjanes peninsula. The owner is a really nice and friendly guy and also his son who received us. Rooms anb bathroom are clean and great, very comfortable. Kitchen is ok to prepare dinner if needed. 

Good location. Nice rooms

The guest house was great. We had an very early morning arrival and they let us have our room early which was great. Obviously depends on if anyone was there the night before. Location is perfect,  it's about a 5 minute drive from the Blue Lagoon. I know when I leave the blue lagoon I'm relaxed and don't want a long drive. So this place is perfect. Anitas has 5 bedroom and 2 bathrooms. Which I'm generally not into but they were clean and fine. The 3 nights we spent there Nov 29 - Dec1 all 5 rooms were full but you would never know it and there was no problem with the bathrooms. I really like the town of Grindavik, I think its a perfect location for an Iceland trip. 1 day we drove to Reykjavik and walked round and to see the big church, bars, shops and restaurants,  day 2 we drove to Kerid Crater, Geisir, and Gullfoss Falls, day 3 we did the ATV Adventure in the morning which is also right in Grindavik and went to the Blue Lagoon later that afternoon. Actually right in Grindavik by the shipyard there is a dirt road that leads out to an orange lighthouse, that little road goes past various shipwrecks so you will see a few signs explaining the wrecks. Then on the 4th day on the way to the airport we had some time to kill and took the coastal road  and would take little dirt roads that lead to the ocean and saw some awesome unexpected sights. We saw many light houses, awesome beaches and rock formations, some steam and sulfur fields all within 30 minutes of town. 

Nice, Clean, Affordable and very Convenient Location

We stayed here after arriving late at Keflavik airport and it was a very nice experience. The guest house is clean and warm and you have all the felicities you need.We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Iceland

Nice, comfy and clean

The place is simple and one can not expect anything spectacular there but I review it in a category of arrival / departure place when arriving to / leaving Iceland and in that role it is ok.

As we arrived around midnight we needed a place providing 24/7 check-in near the airport (Grindavik is around 20 minute drive). There are no big signs saying "Anitas Guesthouse" and as it is located in a regular house one could have problems finding the place easily.

The check-in went well and has been done by a small boy (most likely owner's son who nevertheless spoke great English).

What is interesting - they provide you with an equipped kitchen and fridge filled with products and everybody makes breakfast for themself (there are no prepared platters with cheese / ham etc. but everything is available in the fridge).

There is also a backyard garden with a small football field which would be lovely for families with kids etc.

Grindavik itself is a small town but for budget/mid-range travellers you can find a Netto store just around the corner to stock-up for the tour around Iceland.

For Iceland's standards the price was ok (I gave it 4/5 points) but bear in mind that you get a small room with a shared bathroom so it still could not be considered as bargain.
