A little out of the way but very worth the extra drive - note that the road out to the guesthouse is gravel and the driveway is a bit steep. Lovely clean little house with a nice kitchen area, tidy rooms, and good bathrooms. Great views. Owners and other guests were very pleasant. We didn’t take advantage of purchasing meals but they looked very good.

Nice comfortable farmhouse stay. The owners are a lovely couple. Amazing views and stellar breakfast.

This is a cozy smaller guest house with a warm and welcoming Staff set in a quiet rural farm setting. Elisa was so warm she made us feel comfortable right away and we enjoyed meeting some of the fellow guests. We didn’t order any meals but both dinner and breakfasts are available and looked very yummy and were reasonably good value for Iceland. The outdoor table area is very cute. The kitchen worked well for cooking dinner and breakfast even though it’s on the smaller side. Although it wasn’t fancy it was very comfortable and the beds were comfortable and the bathrooms nice for showering. We would happily stay here again.

What a sweet and charming place to stay! The people running it were so nice and friendly! With it‘s location up an a hill you have a great view and a quiet environment to fully experience the icelandic calmness and nature! The tiny shop included in the hostel with selfmade woolen items rounds up the perfect stay! It was a treat!

While on a 10-day vacation on Iceland's Ring Road, three of us spent one night here.  It's easy to find, thanks to Elisa's (the owner) great directions.  The guesthouse is clean, with shared bath and kitchen area as well as a covered patio.  

Our room was perfect.  Large enough for our belongings, with clean, comfortable beds.  Everything in the room and bathroom was spotless.  We drifted asleep to the gentle sounds of sheep in the nearby meadows.

The following morning we used the well-appointed kitchen to prepare an early breakfast.  Elisa kindly invited us to stop by their home to chat with her friendly husband about their livestock.  At their farm, the gentleman explained how they purchased a farm that had been neglected and are bringing it back to life.  It was fascinating to hear their plans, how much they have already accomplished, and what their goals for the place are.  

Elisa sells handmade woolen items she crafts during the winter, and we purchased some items as gifts.  The recipients love them.

If we are ever in this beautiful corner of Iceland again, we will be thrilled to stay here.

We've been traveling in Iceland for 2 weeks now and this is by far the best guesthouse we've been in. The kitchen is fully equipped, the patio is charming, the view is breathtaking, the owner is super nice, the bathrooms are wide and the bath tubes comfortable. Everything was just perfect, I highly recommend it.

Fabulous Icelandic Farm Experience!

We stayed for one night. It was difficult to find and it would have been helpful to have "Hildarvegur or rt 917" in the directions. Overall, it's a great place to stay. Elisa is very friendly and she is a great cook. We had dinner and breakfast here. You should definitely try as well. She helped us with the laundry. You should take the short hike up the hill to check out some great views (and the goats).

Spotless room and common areas. Hostess Elisa is welcoming, helpful, and friendly. The country farm and its location are beautiful and peaceful.  Great sleep quality. Be sure to get some of Elisa’s woolen and baked products!  If we’re ever fortunate enough to return, we will definitely stay here again.

Fabulous Country Farm Stay

If you are looking for a home away from home - that can also show you the beautiful icelandic way of life and is in the middle of amazing scenery, you should definitely come here! We spent a few beautiful days in the guesthouse and wish we could have stayed. The host and her family are lovely people, always helpful and willing to share their knowledge about Iceland and the local must-dos. The breakfast was the best we had on our trip, home-made icelandic specialties and so much more. The guesthouse is very clean and well equipped with everything you need and there is even a little store with handmade products and icelandic knitting,  where we got unique and beautiful souvenirs to take home. If you're in the area - come and stay, there is so much to do! From hiking on the farmland with berry-picking to meeting the horses, sheep and goats. We are looking forward to our next stay and can only recommend anyone to come here! :) 

Home away from home! 

The guesthouse is situated in the vicinity of Egilsstaðir (30 min, which is not far in Iceland) in a beautiful environment. There are two complete batherooms for 5 rooms and a big kitchen. As we understood, the owner changed recently. The owner was very welcomming and interested in her guests and provided valuable advices for day trips. The next time we are in that region we will stay there again!

Absolutely recommended

By far the best accomodation we've had throughout our whole trip! It's a very small guesthouse with only 5 rooms + 2 shared bathrooms in an amazing remote setting. The roofed terrace is perfect for an evening beer. The location is great for exploring Borgarfjörður Eystri (puffin watching) and key attractions of northern Iceland (Dettifoss, Hverir, etc.). We regret not being able to stay an extra night!
