Cozy and felt like home! Property was clean. public spaces felt welcoming.

Cozy house and clean. Could probably improve on soundproofing the rooms as we could hear snoring and murmuring from other rooms at night. Some guest tends to overuse the kitchen for heavy meals and we had to wait for our turn. However we do loved our stay and it has a very nice view from my room - I could see faint aurora. Would come back again!

Me and my wife were young. Not anymore. 
We got a room in the first floor. The way up is thru narrow curved stairs a fact what avoided us from taking our luggage with us. 
Even if if was on the ground floor, the room is so small , not enabled to put luggage inside. 
At the first floor, or at least in our room, the ceiling was inclined, and I banged my head in the ceiling several times, so I decided to sleep upside down, in order to avoid a critical accident during the night, while going to the toilets. Ah, I’d forgotten to mention that the bathrooms are outside the room. 
In order to get breakfast, you should go a couple hundred meters, to a restaurant located at the gas station, which opened only at 8 o’clock. 
At least the food was good.   
 There is no staff in the hotel and you receive instructions how to go in via email and sms.

Only good for youngsters

This guesthouse was within walking distance of a pleasant diner, close to gas stations and easily accessible.  The property is well maintained and spotless.  The rooms have adequate space and there are common areas and kitchen privileges.

We stayed in the annex with private bath. It was a nice, big enough room, very quiet, with a comfortable sitting area.  But the beds with a bit bouncy mattress tilting to one side was not very comfortable. There was a very small kitchenette for basic breakfast needs. However, there were only 2 little spoons, 1 knife, 2 glasses and 2 cups, but no plates and nothing to clean up provided.  We bought paper towels to eat on them and for clean up. Using the kitchen in the main house was an option, but inconvenient walking over in the pounding rain, taking the shoes off, and also busy with people in the main house. We were charged for 3 expensive breakfasts in a restaurant nearby we had not booked, but the money was reimbursed the next day after my complain.  The small shower was remarkably well designed, but the sink in the bathroom was so small, I could not wash my face without getting my feet wet. We had only one hand towel for 2 people, fine for 1 night, but we stayed 3.  The hot water was highly sulfured, got used to it while showering, but bad for toothbrushing.  We liked the location with restaurant options in walking distance, and convenient for a day trip to Borgarfjördur Eystri to see the nesting Puffins, and a drive around lake Lagarflijot.

Convenient stay in Eglistadir

It is a nice place for a quick layover during the journey from Akureyri to Hofn. It is centrally located and has all the basic amenities in place. The rooms were a bit small in size. But there was a big common area which made up for the lack of space in room.

Everything was perfect, except could’ve used better black out curtains for summer midnight sun months.  But great comfy spot.

For overnight stop - suitable. Behaviour unacceptable!
Even though we were promised to pay upon arrival, the lady charged us beforehand, blaming some agencies we didn't have to do anything with! By trying to talk with her by phone, she cut the call every minute with the excuse that this is her phone system?!
Then, she charged us another time, same amount! HELLO!!!! 
No invoice, no receipt!
Only after our angry phone call she admitted double charging. After couple of days we were refunded. Astonishingly, this time she did it with no help of any agency! And the call wasn't cut! Hooray!
So, pay attention with your payment here!
Besides, the coffee is awful! No milk at the refrigerator, as promised!

Nice housing, bad attitude

Biggest issue was soap dispensers in every shared water closets were empty.  We stayed two nights and never addressed.  Room very small with sloped ceilings where we bumped our heads numerous times reaching for items on nightstands.  Rug in room curled up on corner which caused tripping.

This place is easy to find, especially with it being painted in bright pastel colour. Check in was simple. The room is clean, well furnished and stocked with all basic amenities for a night's stay. The twin beds were comfortable.

This place is also well located within easy reach to the town's shops, restaurants and other services.

We had a quiet room facing the pretty backyard with a multi tiered deck and large trees beyond. The view from the window in the morning was made much prettier with the snow fall and snow covered deck!
