Lovely tranquil and quaint place to stay.  Adored sitting in the outdoor hot tub watching the stars.  Our host was very friendly and enjoyed his company at breakfast.

My fiancé and I stayed at this charming hotel during our trip to Iceland, and it truly felt like a home away from home. The location was perfect—close enough to the Golden Circle and southern Iceland's top attractions, making it easy to explore. The breakfast was delicious, and the chef was exceptionally kind, always making us feel welcome.The atmosphere was so cozy and inviting. Every night, we felt like we were returning to a peaceful retreat. One of the highlights was definitely seeing the Northern Lights from the backyard—such an unforgettable experience!And the pets! The hotel had both dogs and cats, but surprisingly, there was no pet smell at all. There was also adorable Icelandic horses that love pets in a short walking distance. It was incredibly clean, so you'd never know there were animals around, except for the adorable Mia, the best cat receptionist, who always greeted us with a warm and welcoming presence.Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to experience Iceland in comfort and warmth!

Beautiful property with great dark skies that can be viewed from a hot tub. Excellent breakfast buffet.

Such a beautiful hotel out in the countryside. The dinner was fantastic, the hot tub was one of the best I have been in. Very quiet, very quaint. Would recommend to everyone looking to stay out of the main villages!

The property is a typical, warm and friendly country inn, nestled on the outskirts of Thingvellir National Park. It is an easy drive to many amazing natural landmarks including Thingvellir, Silfra Fissure, Geysir, Gullfoss waterfall, Secret Lagoon thermal springs, and much more.The included breakfast was excellent, as was the buffet dinner they offered in their restaurant. We stayed two nights and saw the aurora from the parking lot both nights.The rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying here.

A wonderful spot. We saw the Northern Lights from the driveway- perfect viewing! The rooms were basic and clean. The reception area was lovely and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious. A lovely place to stop over.

Very cozy, clean and comfortable place. The breakfast was like heaven on earth. I'm still dreaming of that tuna salad with pepper.They have boardgames which was a nice surprise. Highly recommend.

Beautiful countryside hotel in the Golden Circle area, common spaces finely decorated, helpful staff for breakfast buffet. Need to drive a while from Reykjavik, but you’ll find yourself in a very quiet and relaxing place, close to the Geysir geothermal area. The only negative note was the bathroom, sink was too small with an unnecessary big wooden counter which would spill water on the shelves below…

The location is beautiful, and you can enjoy an amazing sunset from the hot tub. Staff was gracious and friendly, and I loved meeting the dogs and cats that live on the property, and seeing the horses in It neighboring fields. The hotel mixes rustic and modern in a comfortable and fun way. Highly recommend.

Beautiful location, wonderful people (and pets)

Splendidly remote yet perfectly placed for all the glories of the Golden Circle. The rooms were clean and tidy and big enough (some more plug sockets or an extension cable would be great!). The public areas are delightfully furnished and dressed with an eclectic collection of furniture pictures and ornaments. The dining room is an especially pleasure with vintage un-matching china and cutlery, a lovely selection of chairs and tables. Dinner is a great buffet of hot dishes and salads, a soup to start and a dessert, all home made from scratch and all the better for that. Breakfast is similarly varied and comprehensive. It all suited us very well indeed and its is easy to recommend

This beautiful property was tucked away in the hills of Iceland. The drive out was breathtaking, and once we got to the property, felt very welcomed. This property was clean and quaint, with its own quirky touch. The room was clean and quiet, and the beds were very comfortable! The breakfast that is included was homemade and had quite the spread of different options! We got the buffet dinner for an extra charge, and it was worth it! The chef really did a great job with everything she prepared. I would definitely stay here again!

Great location for our planned itinerary. The warm and vibe of the place really set the tone for our trip to Iceland. We stayed three nights and ate at the hotel twice.  Compared to the other local offering the food was excellent value for money.  The hot dish of soup after a cold day on the mountains was just heaven washed down with glasses of draft Gull. Because of the remote location Bru was perfect to see the Nothern Lights from lower down the drive. The bed was extremely comfortable and the free breakfast Continental buffet was plentiful to pack you up for a busy day out.The bed was comfortable and we slept very well for three nights we were there.We are hoping that this is not an only chance to at  Bru. Wonderful find.

Staff was friendly and attentive, lounge was inviting and comfortable, breakfast was varied and delicious. Room was comfortable. We were closest to the lounge (room 1) and we did hear some of the music (on a Saturday night, after an event) until nearly 11, but it was super quiet from that point on, and we had no problem getting to sleep. Would stay here again!

Spent a couple nights here. Rooms were simple, private and included everything we needed. The breakfast buffet was great to kicking of our day. Location was perfect for experiencing the Golden Circle. And although we did not see any, this seemed like a fantastic place to catch the northern lights. Away from any downtown area, the sky was clear and stars were bright.

I just checked out of Bru Country Estate and I’m sad to be leaving after just one night. This place is wonderful. The property is tucked away on a nice piece of land with beautiful views. When I approached the building to check in, I was greeted by three friendly and adorable dogs— just what I needed to bring a smile to my face after a day of driving. Upon entering the main house, I immediately felt at home. Ro checked me in and was very friendly and welcoming. The ambiance in here is so warm and cozy. The decor is eclectic, the candlelight soothing, the temperature warm (lovely coming in from the Icelandic wind), and the music relaxing. I enjoyed reading and journaling in the main common spaces with a glass of wine, occasionally tossing a toy duck for one of these cute dogs. I also took advantage of the homemade dinner buffet, which was the best meal I’d had in a long time—absolutely delicious. The mushroom soup and cod casserole were my favorites— credits to the chef! My cabin for the evening was a basic one and a bit chilly for my tastes (to be fair, I get cold easily so it was probably fine for normal people). I slept so great, though, that I slept straight through breakfast! I was still able to get coffee though, and that’s the most important part:) Staying here has been my favorite part of my trip and I’ll be staying here again if I return to Iceland.
