We stayed two nights and got an upgrade to a room with bathroom. The house and room were very nice and cosy. The location and surrounding nature is really beautiful! Breakfast was also good and you can make tea and coffee at all times :) Would definitely come back!

Wonderful accommodations with shared bath in the 1884 home. Pictures of owners through the generations on the wall and relation working the house. The chef is wonderful with tasty Icelandic dishes. Beautiful breakfast buffet.

Although we only stayed for a meal, we were so impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff that we've decided to return for an overnight stay.  This is a homey and welcoming lodge with a terrific view out over the river and landscape.  Definitely worth a visit.

My husband and I had the privilege of visiting this place for a wedding dinner for our friends. We actually stayed at the Airbnb owned by the same hosts, so it was rather convenient to where the whole group was staying. It was a small group - there were 11 of us - and we enjoyed the most delicious lamb & rhubarb jam, smoked salmon, and local skyr. The atmosphere was so pleasant and the hosts are so kind and hospitable. I encourage anyone who plans to head to Borgarnes or surrounding areas in Iceland for special events to connect with these folks.

Driving from the North Fjord to Reykjavik can be tiering. Unfortunately there aren't too many options available for a stopover. This is a short off the main highway 1 unique experience. The place is now maintained and operated by 3rd and 4th generations of the first owner. The jet the palace true to it's original look and feel. Experiencing an authentic "back in time" hospitality.

This guesthouse run by a young staff is realy worth staying. Do not expect luxury rooms and bathrooms but authentic rooms which are not very spacy but more than well equipped to have a great sleep. Breakfast, simple but varied and dining, where we had the best halibut ever, is located in a dining room connected with a big living room where you can sit in fauteuils and use the internet. The views from the dining room are spectacular since you have a direct view on the river.
Close by on walking distance is a fall which is worth visiting.

This is a cool place!  Set on a scenic salmon river, the inn itself is just plain interesting. Warm and comfy lounging room in the main building that just wants you to settle back and read or talk. Lots of wood inside, all done in a rustic style.  If you want new and sterile, this is not the place. If you want a place that makes you feel welcome and comfortable, you'll love it.  Plus, the beds are very comfortable, and the rooms quiet. The only average thing about the stay was the breakfast, which was unexciting. Nevertheless, this place is worth the stay.

A guesthouse on a beautiful quiet location. It feels very authentic on the inside, we had a small room with shared bathroom that was adequate. The breakfast was nice, fresh and good. Basically what you may and can expect from a Islandic guesthouse on a place like this.

This was the first of 16 unique Icelandic accommodations. No two were alike. All were interesting. The evening meal was delicious and the rooms were spacious - even the rooms on the second floor. The river is close by and provided entertainment. Yes, the place was clean and easy to find (not true of many places in Iceland!). We stayed here in July 2016
