I had a good stay at Kinizsi. The price in combination with the location and rooms is super! I don't understand the people who are complaining, they may have been expecting too much? When you want a great place to sleep in a beautiful city, you have to be at Kinizsi. Also nice people!

Pretty good price/quality

Such a good location, lies not far from the center. Personal is kind, and the bar in the ground floor is very nice. Rooms are also nice. But the bathroom is not good. Shared bathrooms and showers (1 each floor), no toilet paper... Not so bad, but think there are better options. Good if u will stay 2 or 3 nights.

Not bad, not the best option

It is dormitory, during vacations hostel for turists. We went by bike late evening (some guy on railway station Keleti recomended this hostel to us - I think, he was a commission agent). No price list was there, no inform from staff - we gave him paper from guy and we payed 28 EUR for room/night (2 beds). There was cloakroom for bikes, it was ok. Room was equiped by very old furniture, damaged by students. Not extra clean. Shared bathrooms and showers on floor, no soap, no toilet paper. Very hot room, is was necessary open to window, but traffic noise disturbed. On floor small shared kitchen with microwave, etc, no dishes. Advantage is a location - close to begin of pedestrian zone in downtown Pest.

Not so good

This was probably the worst hostel I ever stayed. But let's start from the top.I was doing an interrail with 3 other friends, we phoned ahead 3 day and they told us the price per person would be one price. When we got there the was up by 10€ each. Well as it was midnight we argued for a bit and it the end it was 5€ higher than on the phone per person, per night. We just wanted bed to sleep so no more argueing. When we got the room there was already another person there, but ALL the beds were turned arround and there were fleas in them. We marched downstairs (this was almost 1.a.m.) and demmanded a clean room. His words were "You will stay there and if you don't like it, you can leave." So we decided we were going to another hostel, to our surprise he would not refund us for the 2 night we had payed (already overcharged). we got into a bit of a discussuin when finally when things were about to get physical, he gave us the key to another room (just like the one before but on the lower floor). And now it was 2.38.a.m. So we got to our room and slept. Guess what? The next day we all got up with flea bites or bed bugs I don't know which. We stormed out, and found another hostel, didn't even care about the refund, we just wanted a clean place (and if I even talked about the bathrooms all of you would think I was talking about a pest infested place, which was not far from the truth) to stay. Do not stay here if you want a good HQ for you budapest sighstseeing and clubin. The only good thing about this, that made us choose it in the first place was the location.

We stayed at this hostel in Aug 2011. The bathrooms were filthy and smelt of sewage and were often out of toilet paper. We planned to stay at the hostel for three nights but left early because we had bed bug bites ALL over our body. We packed up and left the hostel but we ended up getting bed bugs in our luggage. We were forced to throw out ALL of our belongings including camera etc. Worst hostel experience ever!
