Hotel Belvedere Budapest

Location Perfect for those who want to see many sights. Walk to Margaret bridge (near Parliament) is approx 30 mins. Walk to get on tram is approx 5 mins. Plenty of shops, bars & restaurants within a 5-10min radius Hotel Superior room was a lovely size with a small balcony (the view is not grand so don’t have any expectations on this). Reception staff were very friendly & helpful. The hotel was clean. You MUST visit the small spa on the 9th floor, the small but luxurious inside infinity pool is a lovely touch, looking out in the evening over parliament all lit up. Stunning. There is also a sauna, loungers & a terrace. The roof view (floor 9) is lovely. We didn’t book any spa treatments so cannot make judgement on these. Breakfast It’s what I expected for a small hotel, there is enough, but limited options on hot food (sausages are hotdog sausages, fried eggs are lovely, bacon very fatty). Breakfast in bed can also be arranged, leave the hanger on your door by midnight Evening meal The menu is nice & the food was delicious. The bar & evening restaurant was only open until 9pm though, that was its downfall. Even if you go to the bar to order your drinks, they will bring your drinks as you are charged a service charge. The restaurant staff were not over friendly, although not rude, just a language barrier. We were charged a service charge on each time we ordered. Overall This isn’t a 5 star hotel, but it is a lovely 4 star. Suggested improvements - bathrobes in rooms are a lovely touch, but were scratchy & both ours were missing the belt loops - due to restaurant closing time, mini bar was limited with no options for snacks - breakfast we didn’t see any options for making requests for scrambled/boiled eggs etc however they seemed to be on the ‘breakfast in bed’ menu - steam room would be a lovely addition to the spa or a jacuzzi All these would be things which would more likely make a 5 star but we were very very happy during our stay
