I went with three of my friends and we had a great time together! The hostel is in a perfect position if you are visiting Budapest, just a few meteres from the metros of Opera and Deak Ferenc and max.10/15 minutes by foot to all the must see restaurants and pubs.

The girl was immediately available and welcomed us and had us checked in explaining everything. There is also the possibility to rent towels for 1€ each, very convenient if you do not have space in your luggage!

We stayed in the mixed dorm A, the first night with us there was also a guy but then it was just the 3 of us. Unfortunately the general light in the room was not working and it was a bit uncomfortable but the guy told me that it had just broken so it can happen.

Every bed that his light to read so we used those to light the room, also everyone is given his own set of keys with the key of the house and his personal lock (no extra cost).

There are only two bathrooms inside the structure and one of them is quite small but makes good use of the space! It doesn't cause any particular inconvenience, I would just recommend to put a small shelf to put things on. For the rest it has all the essentials and always super equipped with toilet paper.

We were only 4 days and we always ate out so as far as the kitchen service we did not use it.

The only flaw in the room there are three lamps and they are not turned off at night, as the dormitory door is made of glass windows (although they are covered) enough light comes in. I tried to turn them off but the switches were inaccessible and I was able to turn off only one.

I'm sure the staff would have been able to solve these problems but the reception is open only from 10 to 16 so for us who wanted to tour the city from early morning it was a bit uncomfortable. (I would recommend opening a little earlier, around 9 magaru).

There is also the possibility to leave your luggage after check-out free of charge so that you don't have to carry unnecessary luggage if you have a late flight.

All in all we had a really good time, thank you!

I recommend!!

This was my first hostel experience, and I am glad it was with Activity Hostel. Friendly staff, clean sheets, lockers and most importantly right in the city center. Met a few solo travelers as well. 
However, the reception closes at 4:00 pm,  so anyone coming afterwards, may have some difficulties getting into the building, so ensure to notify the Hostel of your arrival.

Faith in hostels restored.

Is there this last week at this hostel was very happy to London and had a kitchen that I could perhaps prepare meal .however much to my disappointment the first day of 5 days there the microwave went out. There are 16 people in this house that depend on that microwave for usage of coffee heating things etc.I was very busy and was going to have somebody come and check out this antiquated microwave to find out of perhaps it could be saved from obvious death.I mean the numbers on the dial could no longer be seen in head been used so much it was obvious it needed to be replaced rather than promptly replacing this and affecting the lives of 16 people living in the hostel, apparently the owner was unable in was busy.however when I sent a text stating that I was interested perhaps in one of the pieces of art, she has all these amateur drawings and art that she has done all over the hostal,immediately within a short period of time I received a text from her stating that yes she could be there the following morning to meet with me regarding this art sale. Very peculiar that she was not available to replace this microwave for 4 days but was able to promptly respond when they were a sale and money on the line for her. I quickly decided then the viewing the art in my home, would mearly bring the memory, of having to go 4 days with heating coffee in a pan in the morning washing the pan, not being able to heat up food like snitzel,and other stuff from the restaurant. I'm not sure if he's aware of the negative effect that is hard on 16 people's lives in that hospital 16 people living in a apartment to be able to use this Bible microwave apparently she didn't care. Unfortunately I would not recommend this place

You're more interested in the selling her art then providing functional place

Congratulations to Sofie, Fanni and Kata for being so amazing. 

The hostel is clean, cosy and has all one could need during a stay.

These 3 cool girls help you out whenever and wherever they can, and ensure all is taken care of. Cheers to all three of you for a flawless, impeccable service!

The location of this hostel is also perfect, close to all amenities and transport facilities.

A fabulous hostel with an excellent service!

Nice hostel but had to check out early because I got very badly bitten by bed bugs. When I informed a staff member, I got no apology or offer of a partial refund. Could have been dealt with better. A shame as it is in a great location and has a good vibe.

Bed bugs let it down

We had a great stay at the Activity Hostel. The staff is super friendly, the hostel itself is really cosy and comfortable. We felt at home! 
In terms of location, it couldn't be better, we were right in the city centre close to all main places and commodities. We didn't need to use public transport.  
We would recommend that hostel to anyone looking for a cosy, quiet environment while travelling. 

Excellent stay!! 

Basic small hostel. Free coffee available (make your own). Check in process is convoluted with very limited hours and no staff overnight. There was another guest who had some sort of cash issue and resorted to waking up other guests to help as there were no staff around. Rooms were noisy as windows facing Andrássy Ave had to be left open due to heat. Fans were very helpful. Only 2 bathrooms for entire which is a huge issue. I twice had wait times over 30 min, thankfully I could do other things while waiting! Bed options are good with some non-bunks. Sketchy elevator available but it worked perfectly during my stay. Location is convenient on Andrássy Ave and close to Jewish District for nightlife.

This hostel is located right in the center of the city. It's 5 mins walk to the St. Stephen's Basilica. The hostel itself is very nice, beds are comfortable, rooms are convenient and toilets are tidy and clean. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Highly Recommended!

Amazing place to stay!

This is the best hostel i have ever been to so far. Beautiful, cozy, warm and most importantly clean. Also what an amazing location. Everything was so close. You can walk to all the sights within minutes. The staff was friendly. I totally recommend it to everyone who wants to stay in a hostel in budapest. Cheap and perfect. It should be your top choice.

Perfect stay

Seriously this is the best place i have ever stayed.It feels like home due to the beautiful decor and the extremely helpful stuff.I was almost crying when i left it behind.It is located on the Andrassy street,in the center of Budapest.Easy access to everything.Loved my stay and will definitely come back. <3 
p.s. In the kitchen you can find free coffee and a variety of flavoured teabags. :)
