Balatonfured

Camping Füred
was maybe earlier a nice place to stay. But things have changed. We arrived with a 2,5 year old Girl, and there was absolutely nothing to do for her.
There is no beach down to Balaton, only here and there some steps down. Before my daughter reached the last step she was under water. So only swimming possibilities for grown ups.
We walked around and had a look, and we found a children’s swimming pool! 
Now we could get into the water, but not possible to play with the toys in the sand, directly from grass into water. A slide for the little one, perfect. But the slide ended in the deep section of the children’s pool, so she couldn’t do it alone.
A visit to the nearby toilet, with sauna and massage. Toilets were so disgusting that we decided to walk to the other end of the area, to the the “stuff” in our own caravan. The showers near Swimmingpool were also really dirty! The sauna, we never found !

Next morning, we went to the toilet building next to our caravan. First toilet, no toilet seat. Next toilet was full of The Brown Stuff to the top, next toilet occupied, next toilet was laying paper on the floor with Brown stripes on, last toilet had so many stripes that I got sick by looking at it. This was not a one-time-experience, it went on morning, midday and evening… and the same on the ladies room! 

Except from all this, they are also one construction site, it will hopefully get better. And the personal, didn’t even return a cent of the paid money. Even though, we did find another couple that was willing to take over our pitch! So Balaton Füred was paid double for our site, even when they had the possibility to just change the name, on the pitch, they decided to keep the deposit and let the next customer pay also, even when we all stay together in the reception.

I have really nothing positive to say about Balaton Füred! This was our first visit and our last! 

I’m sure adults alone and maybe families with grown up children can have a party, but families with small children - forget it!

Going Down !

A very very nice camping, well organised, like a resort, quiet, despite that we were camped near the bar (in the evening was nice music, acrobatic moments ans magic program). The bathrooms/showers were clean.  Spar/Tesco and Aldi are 3 min away from the camping. I have a 10th grade for the animation team! Children were pleased about their programs: minidisco/maxidisco, karaoke, story on thursday(very very nice), watergym, etc. Definitely we will come back, maybe in August. Thank you!

Camper - July 2021- Very nice

Nice camping place at Balaton lake, clean toilets, peacefull place on beach front of the lake with own beach. A lot  of nice restaurants and ealking distance to the center of the town. It’s very cheap and there is no trafic jam on the border.

So much potential, such utter crap! Spent our hollidaty here after reading raving reviews about 'The best campsite at Lake Balaton'. How wrong they are. The location is good, the lake is nice, the pool is fine, but the toilets and showers are disgusting. My daughter, wife and I where all sick for 24+ hours. And so where at least 40 other people we spoke to. And they all knew people who where sick also. The reason is the toilets are hardly cleaned. All they did was sit around and smoke and play with there phones. Four days after I had been sick, the remains under the toiletseat where still there. I ended up cleaning a toilet myself. It was horrible. The whole campsite is a health risk and with this management should be closed. The food in the restaurants is mediocre at best. This goes for all of Balatonfured, not only the campsite. It was like being on holiday in 1986. Fat, greasy and pork galore. The only thing good to eat in the town is Pizza. Another thing to bare in mind is the nightclub Sun City acros the road. Every weekend from friday untill sunday three nights of music till 05:00 in the morning. I don't think campsites need to be quiet at 10 pm, I don't care if there is sound/noise till about 01 AM, but 05 AM!!! What The &*^%!. And three nights straight. Hungary is cheap, the weather is good, the food is mediocre and this campsite should be ignored. Really. Don't go here.

Horrible, disgusting and noisy

A campsite at Lake Balaton with also holiday bungalows. You access the camping area through the bungalow section. There is a small mini market and sports facilities too. 
Bungalows are dated but with everything you need.  
Great staff at the reception. They speak English. 
The only negative thing is that our bungalow seemed to be clean last year, because of the spiderwebs and spiders everywhere, inside and outside.

Good Location!

We have seen a lot of campsites in hungary  (mainly near balaton lake), most of them are rapidly improving, but still you see outdated facilities etc and mainly hungarians going to these great campsites (some german or Dutch)

Ofcourse siofok is for the more international younger people.. but not directly for Young families. 

We booked a mobile home and it was nearby the beach. 

Mobile home: was great! Good space and well equipped. Good terrace as well. But not to much space in between other mobile homes.

This campsite was the first with really international audience (mainly Dutch/german). 

Good facilities and not expensive to eat (in general). Great that it had a swimming pool as well! Two.. for small kids/babies and adults. Kids was Nice but with a really hazardous deep ridge for small kids between both baths. 

Great to have free WiFi (on certain spots).

Nearby fured: great to eat and be during evenings etc! And nearby tihany a Nice old place with a "famous" Church. 

Beach: sand: perfect for small kids! Further a lot of grass and well known rocks on the rest of the lake Side. A Nice free slide! And waterski etc all there! (Paid).

Sits directly next to a large Tesco and a big waterpark (Nice! But not heated water (important during preseason) and you Pay per slide... )

A lot to do in the surroundings further.

For hungarian standards finally a camping the has got it all and receives the international recognition / audience!

Compared to other countries: a bargain for a great holiday!

Best campsite in hungary so far

Positive: Nice camping for families, great view of the Balaton lake, small sandy beach great for children, pool for children, waterski center, restaurants, playgrounds...
Negative:  really horrible bathrooms, it was like a trip back in time into communist era 25 years ago, every other shower not working, dirty, smelly... I can't imagine a reason why they don't renovate it...

Nice camping for families with horrible bathrooms

We stayed in June using our ACSI discount card. The site was fairly quiet as the main tourist season seemed not to have started. There were lots of vacant pitches.
There were lots of toilet blocks, some of them closed down as the site wasn't that busy.
The site didn't have free wifi, but you could get it at the nearby Tesco supermarket or OMV garage. The site had numerous restaurants, so we imagine it will be buzzing in the main season
