La Ronda Downtown Hostel

Tegucigalpa

La Ronda is a good spot to visit, as long as you're not looking for a restful place. The hostel is very nice... for a bar. Don't misunderstand. The rooms are nice, the staff is friendly and helpful. It's just that it's much more of a popular local bar than it is an actual "hostel".  By day it's what you might expect from a hostel (except the community kitchen is actually a bar kitchen where boundaries aren't clear  and it's locked until mid morning to make sure folks don't steal liquor and the restaurant's food). By night it turns into a loud and packed bar that the locals frequent. I've stayed at many hostels and quite a few of them have bars, but this place is more of a bar than a hostel. I give it an average only because they aren't upfront about the fact that most of their business is the local bar scene.  Lots of noise, lots of folks getting wasted. However... it was fun so there's that. If you like to party, this is your spot, if you want to rest, maybe not so much.

Great bar, not a great "hostel"

Superb hostel, would highly recommend to anyone traveling through, a starting/ending location to your trip in Honduras. 

This city has lots of hidden gems and feels like your ‘off the beaten track’. Me and my partner were pleasantly surprised with how much it had to offer. So many cool dive bars and friendly locals happy to see you enjoying their city. This city really is a ‘hidden gem on the gringo trail’. Me and my partner (both on a six month traveling trip of South/Central America) had to skip Nicaragua due to political unrest and flew from Costa Rica to Honduras, we had no expectations but were extremely surprised by this lively, quirky and happening hostel - the staff here and owners make you feel at home and most importantly safe. 

We found the flight to be cheaper into Tegucigalpa than San Pedro (by $200) so it’s a great alternative entry point into Honduras, plus it’s super easy by bus to Bay Islands. The hostel has heaps of information on the area, and onward destinations in Honduras. They can help and sort any onward travel too! 

The dorms are well equipped with an ensuite, comfortable beds, charging outlets, air con, fan and even a fridge in the room! Juan and Coco the owners our legends and speak fluent English! The food offered here at the hostel is epic and the beer is ice cold! We instantly felt safe and at home once arriving to this hostel.

Amazing Hostel 

I highly recommend this hostel/bar/restaurant to both travelers and locals! It is super clean, super safe, spacious, and has a very comfortable feel. The owners are unbelievably welcoming and informative. They will make you feel right at home and help you with anything you may need. The food here is delicious, the bar is groovy with excellent prices, and the rooms are pristine. The terrace and rooftop areas are beautiful. Me and all my friends love this place!

Pristine, Modern, Lovely

I stayed in the hostel for one night. 
The stuff was very nice and helpful when I arrived in the evening. But they two start drinking and later some friends showed up to have a party on Monday night. Instead of partying next to the bar they celebrated on the nice terrace on the first floor, which is surrounded by all the clean hotel rooms. No guest joined for the party so I’m wondering if they wanna start business in having a bar or hostel. 
On the next day I left after 10 o’clock but nobody was working so far and all guests just left the keys on a table. 

Nice place if you want party 

Its a really nice hostel with a good location and nice dorms. There is a bar and you can order food as well. Unfortunately, my stay in Tegucigalpa was really bad, I was there just for a nightover on my way from La Ceiba to El Salvador. I was stupid and went to the ATM by myself after 6 pm and got brutally robbed by two boys from a street gang, I was lying on the ground and they hit me badly. Its a really dangerous place, so never go out at dark by yourself!! The owner helped me out of the situation, his english is brilliant and he cares about the travellers, he gave me food and managed to give me money to travelling into El Salvador the next day, because all my cash was stolen. I had blessures on my body but I was glad that I could stay at this hostel. After all I had a great sleep and met nice people at the hostel. When you go to Tegucigalpa you should definitely stay at this hostel.
