Hotel LIVVO Los Calderones - Adults Recommended

My choice of this hotel was first and foremost its adults only. When I arrived at reception I was greeted with such genuine enthusiasm - that's a first in over 40 years of travel. The rooms are classed as suites. Downstairs lounge and mini bar and a sofa bed . TV but only 1 English channel - Sky News. Upstairs the bedroom and bathroom with shower no bath but that was fine. A glass balcony with a table and 2 chairs. Downside - is the glass offers no privacy at all. You have a patio with 2 sun loungers a table and 2 chairs with a grassed area and brick paving. The grounds were well maintained by 1 gardener who did an excellent job. It appeared that this hotel had been refurbished - otherwise it was very well presented. I stayed half board and was more than happy with all the food at breakfast and dinner. Always hot, however as is normal in Spain cold plates - just sayin! Restaurant staff always cheerful going about their work. I was pleasantly surprised that even on 25th Dec the restaurant was very relaxed. I always travel at this time of year and normally its like the start of the boxing day sales when the restaurant is about to open. The festive decor was muted and unobtrusive - RESULT. I thoroughly enjoyed my 3 weeks here. If I had not already booked my Dec 2025 holiday I would have retuned. Its a little out of the way. There are 2 eateries within walking distance, an Italian and Lebanese. No idea if they were open as never went out in that direction in the evening. Otherwise it would be a taxi ride to bars and restaurants about 2km away. All in all the best holiday in years. Would I recommend - no as I want to keep it a secret!!!
