We didn’t stay here, however we spent 5 days (Monday thru Friday) using the hotel’s facilities.

We were staying at a beach cottage up the road that had no internet and minimal electricity and we needed a place to park ourselves for the day so our son could remote learn (yay, 2020!) and I could take care of a job interview via Zoom.

My husband spoke to the owner and he rented us a portable modem for a flat fee for the week, unlimited usage as long as we were on property.  He also ran us an extension cord every single day, for all of our various and sundry electronics.

We ate lunch there four out of the 5 days and everything was homestyle and delicious- and they had everything on the menu!  Lambi boucané was my favorite.  And the rhum punch was very good and very strong.

The beach was at our feet and we also had use of the pool, which is really pretty- shaded by palm fronds and bamboo.

I peeked into one of the rooms and would absolutely stay at the hotel next time I’m in Cayes de Jacmel.

One last thing: everyone at the hotel- the owner and his family, the folks who work there and the people from the community who pass thru- is lovely.  Such a good vibe.

No tv in the room or at the lobby, but food and service were excellent !

I enjoyed my entire stay at this hotel. It was very fairly priced and one of the best hotels I have stayed in Haiti especially for the price we paid. They provide good customer service, on time and with diligence. They have great internet service. They also provide good breakfast options with a large quantity. The dinner they served was also of a huge size so two people can easily share it. The owners and staff members are hospitable and kind. They go out of their way to take care of their customers and I would highly recommend this place for anyone who'd like to stay in Jacmel. Additionally, this place is on the beach. It was easy for us to swim at the beach anytime. The beach is clean and well-kept as well.

This is a wonderful spot on the ocean. The rooms are clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The addition of Wi-Fi allowed our business meetings run more smoothly.  The food is delicious! I highly recommend this hotel. 

Enjoyed My Stay

I went over there for st Dominique festivities of august 4th, I had a very good experience. Food was amaizing , staff service was wow and I stay around 4 days over there. I will go back next year.Philippe Schubert

Nice family hotel to stay for a short period.

A quaint hotel on the beach.  The decor is quite charming. The food is great and service is good. I had the lobster for dinner and it was delicious.  If you want a tour around town or attractions like Basin Bleau they can accomadate you. The pricing is affordable.

L'Amitie Hotel was exactly what we were hoping to find on the southern coast of Haiti. It's a little oasis from the hustle and bustle of Jacmel. L'Amitie Hotel is located in Cayes de Jacmel. We felt safe at all times: the room had a dead bolt, and the thief-bar-screen door on the balcony (which overlooked the pool) had a deadbolt as well. Everybody we encountered was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a complimentary breakfast of ham & cheese omelette, with mango & pineapple on the side, and juice. For dinner, we enjoyed lobster (and plenty of it!) for about $13 US. We would recommend you show up with Gourds (or lots of $1 bills) for buying goods from the locals (they will set up their wares on the beach just outside of the hotel), as it was inconvenient for the owner to convert our currency. The restaurant took US, but it was a bit of a hassle for them to have to make change for us. The resort was situated right on a wonderful little surf spot beach break with a great friendly local surf reef point just 200 yards up the beach. The surf break was right across the street from a local shop: Surf Haiti surf shop, where they have boards and super-friendly local guys who all seemed to speak pretty good English. I would recommend this hotel to be the jumping off spot for exploring the many surf opportunities along this southern coast of Haiti. The reefs were algae-covered and not sharp coral, providing both challenging surf and super-easy fun, sand-bottomed surf. We would go again!

Loved the hotel. Litterly right on the ocena. Very friendly and helpful staff and lived the food. If u don't mind the things that make Haiti, haiti, them you'll love this place.

No water in pool or Jacuzzi. Room not cleaned. Mediocre food. Cold water only. Ants.

Looks nice, fails to deliver

The hotel is right on the Caribbean sea. The sand beach is beautiful, since they seem to collect  garbage and burn it almost every night. The staff are friendly and helpful. They lent me a Wi-Fi mobile rooter too. Just be careful, the hotel is in Caye Jacmel, NOT in Jacmel as the Expedia map wrongly indicates.
