Hotel La Cupula San Rafael

Our group of 14 stayed here while on a mission trip at a nearby community. We have stayed here several times over the last few years. The property continues to be built up and upgraded, and now has three or four buildings with rooms of various sizes. The on-site restaurant is busy with locals and tourists and offers a full menu throughout the day. We mostly ate breakfast and dinner there for a week and the food was consistently good, with excellent service. The traditional Guatemalan breakfast was my favorite, complete with homemade tortillas. The grounds are also well kept and lush, with several play areas and a trampoline for kids. The hotel offered overnight laundry service that was very reasonably priced (55 Qs, or about $8, for 8 shirts). Rooms are cleaned daily, with bottled water provided and fresh towels each day (a good thing, since damp towels don't dry easily in the humidity). Staff was friendly and helpful with luggage. This hotel is on the main road to Coban (which is about a 20 minute drive) and from Santa Cruz (a 5-7 minute drive). Some road noise can be heard from the rooms. I highly recommend the hotel.
