I stayed here 1 night and it was a bit of a walk from the main street. I wouldn't usually mind, but because I was tired from a 6 hour tour from Tikal earlier in the day, walking a few blocks with 16lb backpack in tow in 103 degree weather wasn't really what I would've prefered to do. The reason being that vans/tour buses are not allowed past the main street because the streets are not wide enough. 
Once at the hotel check in was a breeze and Chonita was vey kind and informative. Not much of a view from the lobby or outside, but once I reached my room, the view of Lake Peten Itza was amazing.
I was on the third floor, no elevator. Again, usually not a big deal, but I'm 47 and bad knees. Hot and tired  from walking and traveling all morning, it was tiresome. 
The room was very clean. Air conditioning is a must and there's worked great. There's a mini fridge loaded with different types of drinks. Beer, soda. water and even offer small bottles of wine and liquor along with a price list of what each item will cost.
TV, wifi worked well. My room was located right besides the outdoor community deck. For most of my stay it was empty and it was nice to sit outside and lounge reading a book and enjoying the views.
At night time some other guests were out on the deck and I could hear their conversations, but it wasn't botheresome because I was exhausted from my day, I went to sleep right away. 
You must take advantage of the sunrise, perfect view to watch it come up around 5:30 am. I was still in my pj's and was not surprised to see more guests awake and enjoying it too.
Overall experience was good. They offer free breakfast at an affiliate hotel, I chose to eat at La Casona, which is literally down the block about a  5 minute walk with a great view of the lake.
Then before I left I took a swim at another affiliate hotel, Hotel Peten, which is about a  10 minute walk.

The rooms are very simple but spotlessly clean with comfortable beds. No breakfast included but there are coffee and buns available in the reception area. Rudy on reception was excellent and organised a tour to Tikal for us. The highlight is the shared balcony with views towards San Miguel.

Excellent value for money

The hotel is perfect for what it is. The staff are friendly and always ready with a smile, but don't expect English. We checked in after dark and the door was locked, but we were quickly let in. The young man at the desk was very nice. The room was clean and had a beautiful balcony. The view of the lake was really nice. The price was good. The hotel is older, but it is well maintained. Air conditioning worked well. I would choose to stay here again when I come back to Flores.

But... Be careful if you're foreign!!!

They told me they were just checking my card on file and going to charge it £0.00 (standard) when they tried to charge me fo the entire room again! Luckily I have a online bank which informs me when someone tried to spend money... Also, I speak Spanish so was able to call him out.

The taxi driver from the airport also overcharged me. You can see how much they rely on tourism on this island for money!

Finally, when me and two friends were buying beers in the hotel. I asked how much was a bottle of beer. The guy told me 10Q (£1, €1, $1.30) and then his friend quickly saw I was foreign and said "no it's 15Q a beer" to which his friend replied "oh yeah.... 15Q a beer... So it's 45Q instead of 30Q for 3 beers." Of course I didn't argue because it's not too much but the point is that I felt conned. I want others to be very careful of the tourist prices. If you are foreign, even if you don't speak Spanish... They'll try to con you all day long and even lie to your face.

Conclusion : This is a BEAUTIFUL hotel which is very clean and has an incredible view! But... PLEASE be careful of them taking advantage if you're foreign 😃

A gorgeous hotel, with caution if you're foreign 

Casa Azul has a great location, in Flores, just by the lake. The balcony has an incredible view over the lake and San Miguel, perfect to watch the sunset and chil during the hottest hours of the day. The rooms are spacious and clean, with plenty of storage space and a small fridge, perfect to keep any fresh food and water/beer. Big comfy beds, aircon available. The bathroom is also big with a powerful shower. Staff is kind and friendly. There is a small kitchen area downstairs, with coffee mugs, glasses, plates and cutlery.

I found the rooms are updated, beds are comfortable and room is very quiet because they have double pane windows which I kept closed and AC on due to 100 °F temperatures.  I was in room 102 which I loved.  I still had a good view of the sunsets. I could walk out to the lobby and get hot water for tea in the evenings and coffee in the morning.  The staff speaks a little English so if you speak a little Spanish you will get on well.  Friendly and clean!

We stayed in the room located next to the terrace on the top floor. The rooms are modern, clean and ours had two full beds. Very comfortable. AC unit is quiet and works very well. There is a safe that is key-operated, so be sure to get the key from the front desk (ours was separate from the room key.) There is lots of cabinet space available, and there is a nice big refrigerator that produced a good amount of ice (in ice trays.) WiFi worked well. The bathroom is large, with lots of room on the sink to organize or spread your toiletries around. Water in the shower had good pressure, though not great, and the hot water never ran out. There is a working hairdryer as well. TV only had Spanish language channels. The front desk personnel speaks only Spanish, so some rudimentary Spanish is necessary, but they are very nice and patient. You can book tours to Tikal and Yaxha through the front desk. Both were 150 Q for transport and Tikal was an extra 100Q (each person) for a guide.

Nice modern rooms, magnificent terrace

Stayed for 3 nights in a beautiful twin room with balcony overlooking the lake.
No breakfast was included, but easy enough to go to any of the local cafes.
The room was perfect - 2 big beds, desk, fridge, safe, large bathroom with powerful and hot shower, and lovely balcony with 2 chairs to sit and relax.
The rooftop terrace is spectacular - best place to sit and watch the world go by and take in sunset.
We booked our tour to Tikal through the hotel as seemed to offer just the same as Los Amigos hostel - 4:30am, 6am, 8am, 12pm, with 3 return times. 150Q pp for transport and English guide. You pay an additional 150Q pp for the entrance ticket when you are there. We went for the 6am tour, meeting at the beginning of the bridge just before 6. Takes 1.5hrs to get there, had a really good English speaking guide who showed us all the main sights, gave us plenty of time at each, and got us to each place by shortcuts to get everything done. Well worth doing it with a guide. 
Were very sad to leave Flores and Casazul as both were idyllic.

Stunning rooftop terrace, great rooms

we ended up et this hotel after spending two nights in an excellent hotel alas right in the giant sound boxes staged for a very noisy fiesta in Flores. Our only night at the Casazul made up for the lost sleep.The romm was large,the bathroom top of the range and all very clean. The fridge was full of allcool and non-alcoolic drinks and it must be noted at decent prices! The lady at the desk was lovely and very helpful.We would go back to the casazul.but hope to avoid any celebration involving bombs!

We really enjoyed staying here. The location was great, room super clean and big, shower really good, free coffee and situated in a wonderful little village:) 
Best recommendations:)
Only thing that did not work perfectly was the wifi.
