Hotel is situated in a safe area walkable and you can see the sunrise from your terrace

Fun, small island - can see the whole island in a few hours.  Hotel was clean, but no hot water.

Very nice place to stay in a very good location. We traveled from Tikal and spent the night here. Amazing views from hotel window. Room nice and clean and no noise. A lot of pubs and restaurants and souvenirs shops around. We drove with our own car and you can park just outside the hotel.

Good location

I stayed here overnight for a few days in room 301 and it’s view was drop dead gorgeous. Unfortunately I’ve heard that some people mix it up wit Mirador del lago but my mom grew up around Flores and told me mirador del lago was awful. I had a great time! The view was amazing, and the food was the best I’ve ever tasted!!! I couldn’t believe how cheap it was!! The staff was amazingly kind. Love it!!!!

Omg! Best of the absolute best!

Came back twice this trip as I like this hotel.  It’s a midrange Guatemalan small hotel but comfortable beds and the shower has lots of hot water which earns it extra points.  The view of the lake from chairs  and tables on the big shared balconies is delightful.  Everything is clean and the lobby is comfortable. They will keep bags for short trips elsewhere and they are 6 minutes from the airport for early morning flights.  I am mainly appreciative of their helpfulness.  I literally e-mailed that I was stuck on a slow/ late bus from the north and had no idea how to get to Tikal on a Sat.  afternoon and they advised me how to change my plans.  There are plenty of nearby cafes /restaurants but I noticed last night that the bar scene really is on the other side of the island so I never had any trouble sleeping.  Breakfast was OK but there are plenty of cafes with more options.  This will be my go to place when I passed through Flores.

Helpful; has charm. 

Ten minutes ride from Flores airport. Free breakfast. Quiet surroundings. Can enjoy the lake from the balcony. Friendly staff. Rooms are old and toilet needs some revamp. The only window in the room open to a common corridor!

Stayed here for one night whilst exploring Flores and Tikal. Arrived very early (7am) after an overnight bus from Antigua and although I had emailed in advance about paying for early check in for one room (so we quickly could shower before getting breakfast), the night staff declined to let us do this and insisted that we pay for early check in for both rooms. We were too tired to argue so ended up leaving our luggage there and getting breakfast before heading back at 9am when the manager was due to start. Thankfully, he honoured the agreement in our email correspondence and we were able to check in one room early (for an additional charge of 90Q). We then booked a trip to Tikal ruins and traveled there for the day, eventually checking into the other room at 9pm.  I would understand sticking to the check in rules if the hotel had been busy but given that this was off season and there clearly very few other guests with no room availability issues (we saw maybe 3 other guests there), I think it would have been good customer service to have allowed us to check in early at the start rather than make us wait for 2 hours until the manager arrived, especially since we had planned to spend the entire day at Tikal and ended up checking into the other room so late in the evening.

Otherwise, the rooms were clean with aircon and the hotel itself was in good location, close to restaurants and the waterfront.

Well maintained, clean hotel but with minor check in issues

We only planned to stay in Flores for two nights but ended up staying longer due to the wonderful surroundings. The hotel was exactly what we were looking for with comfy beds, fabulous service and the balcony from the hotel has a wonderful view of the lake so even if you don’t get a lake view room you can enjoy the views! The staff were so helpful and friendly, especially as my friend was not very well on one of the days and they offered to help in anyway they could. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel! 

Beautiful views and lovely staff

We loved our single night in a double room at Villa del Lago.  We paid extra for a lake-view balcony, and it was very nice.  A place with character that fits Flores, not a cookie-cutter hotel. Everything was in good shape without being fancy.  The location is convenient to the causeway, and nice restaurants close by.  We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant because it didn't open until after our bus left in the morning.

Great place for a quiet night in Flores

Great location just a few minutes walk from the lake, all the shops, restaurants within easy reach (Flores is a very small island but great atmosphere). The room was very spacious, clean with comfortable beds, well maintained furniture, fittings and good wifi connection. The shower was warm and powerful. The staff were very accommodating and polite. Answered promptly any questions prior to our arrival. They also organised a taxi service for us to the border of Belize at no extra charge (the taxi driver turned up on time). There is a small restaurant with the view over the lake where the breakfast is served. The prices are the same as anywhere outside hence no need to go out to look for a cheaper deal. Especially when the quality was great and big portions too. Would definitely stay again
