The rooms are tiny, you can‘t even fully open the bathroom door. The matress was old and gave us backpain. Breakfast is very basic and there are no tables to eat on. Can‘t recommend the place. There are much better options in Antigua.

Very poor value for the money

Great value!! comfortable rooms. The cute seating area for breakfast worked perfect for my family. David at the desk was very helpful in assisting us with luggage that was lost at the airport . Excellent location in Antigua

Excellently accommodations and staff in a great location

the place is run by a guy called 'elvis' - im not sure if thats his real name. elvis speaks no english, and doesnt seem to speak or read much spanish either. each question was met with silence and a blank long stare. it took me several minutes to communicate that i wanted a coffee in the morning. it turns out they do have instant coffee available. elvis didnt seem to understand the spanish word 'cafe' - how many possible things could someone want in a hotel? the guy only had to learn about six things in english. coffee, towels etc. 

i asked about the deposit for the room and he asked for 1000Q which was most of the money for the stay. as we had just arrived and this is unusual for a hotel, i communicated that this was not a deposit but rather the total amount. elvis then asked for 500Q, so it appears the rules are made up on the spot! we came back later and paid the entire amount, which turned out to be a mistake. the only reason we went here was because the price looked cheap through booking.com but it turns out there was a 22% tax added in small print when we got there!! we booked 5 nights for 1220Q for the entire stay.

the room and hotel itself is a narrow bare strip, there was no blanket on the bed, only a very thin polyester sheet which made it quite cold at night. i had to use my jacket to keep warm. at 5am when it was still dark the cockerel next door started. i found out later there is a small farmyard directly next door. the cockerel was on the other side of the bedroom wall. that was quite annoying as i was tired. after a long while the cockerel stopped and i could relax again. i was drifting back to sleep when elvis started his cleaning at 7am. he went into the room next door, put a radio in it and turned it up, playing upbeat latin music and banging the broom against the wall. i went outside to ask if we can move rooms because of the farmyard and his cleaning. he refused. every other room in the place was empty. 

myself and my partner decided if we cant move rooms we didnt want to sleep next to a cockerel every day, so we told him we were leaving. as we were leaving because he couldnt provide an acceptable service i assumed we would get our money back, but elvis wanted to keep half of 1220Q for one night, after refusing to move the room. at first he didnt have the money, between 11pm and 5am in the morning he had managed to spend our 1220Q!! 

in the end i had to call the police, at which point he gave back another 100Q and i had to cut my losses. we ended up paying 50 GBP for one night of about four hours sleep with terrible service, and a guy who just didnt want to communicate with us and didnt care. i left feeling ripped off and stolen from.
