Lovely clean quiet hotel. Rooms are ample & clean, There is nothing to moan about for a 3 star.
The food is fresh and something for everyone.
Pleasant surroundings.
The staff are proffesional & always happy to help. The pool bar is enough with plenty of drinks available to choose from , no queuing like the other huge overcrowded AI hotels.
 If you want 5 stars, then pay the full extortionate prices that are not all inclusive & go somewhere else & eat out.
We are frequent returning guests, sick of folk moaning about petty things.

The Altura is a lovely relaxing hotel, returning guests several times.

As a 3 star hotel it was fine. Location to shops and bars excellent but quiet. 15 min walk to beach. Lounge/reception and dining room modern and clean. 
Subterranean communal toilets clean but could do with an upgrade.
Our room, although with no view was a good size, cleaned every day and the shower room was newly fitted and very functional. The corridors, however, were a bit spartan with no carpet or soft furnishings to deaden any noise. It wasn’t a problem, nor was the occasional aircraft noise due to the proximity of the airport. (Couldn’t hear anything at night so sleep quality was good in October ( not half term). 
Food was excellent at the start of the stay but the quality tailed off for the last few days.
My biggest disappointment was that the only bar was the pool bar. It seemed a bit down market for after dinner drinks. Fine for sitting around in the sunshine but I’d have given at least another star if there had been an indoor bar in the evenings. Due to this we chose to go out every evening to sit somewhere nicer. Of course, this cost us extra.

Good 3 star hotel but could be improved quite easily.

Our room was small and cramped, so was the bathroom also when showering it tasted like sea water 💦 with a terrible smell coming from the drain, there were a few people trying to get a move to a different hotel there were 2 pools and a children’s pool but never enough sunbeds people left towels on all day and we did not see the people on them and for a hotel with that many guests and only one toilet for all the pool area some people were going in the pool you could tell by the cloudy water we both came back with conjunctivitis and nearly didn’t get on the plane as our eyes looked red raw they thought we were drunk.another thing most people were complaining about was the amount of alcohol they were putting in the drinks when getting a vodka and coke it was 4 fifths vodka and 1 fifth vodka you had to tell them to stop ✋ in 11 nights of being there there was entertainment once if you can call it that. A lot of people complained about the food but I enjoyed it but was sometimes a little cold. And the worst of it all my partner was assaulted by a male from our hotel the staff seen it all but flatly refused to call the police for me I was so glad we didn’t have children with us !!!

YOU COULDN’T PAY US TO GO BACK

I’d give this as a 3.5 if available. I had a great time meeting lots of people which made my holiday in to a 5.

I found the pools to be good and cleaned on a daily basis, yes they did have a tide mark around the edge but this wasn’t green slime as some people have made out. The sun loungers were good and comfortable albeit a bit used but again I did not see any ripped ones as people have stated. 

The food was in general what you get at a normal all inclusive. I had no problems at breakfast but evening was a bit hit and miss with what they put out, there didn’t seem to be any structure.  I did eat out three times, but that was my choice as I wanted some Greek food which you wouldn’t get in the hotel and not because of the standard in the hotel.

The bedroom was adequate and the bed comfy. The only real gripe I have is the bathroom. Very little water coming out of the shower, sometimes none, little black flies hanging out in there and the occasional smell of sewers.

But you know what, I’m in Greece and you have to take what comes with it.

Staff are working hard to keep the guests well looked after but it felt as if this hotel was understaffed , we saw the same faces every day they looked very tired . They were all without exception professional and helpful . 
Hotel is a little worn, plain  decor makes it feel souless.
Food was ok . Nothing to complain about at breakfast,lunch  and dinner but a small selection some days. The mid afternoon snacks on the ground floor pool were abysmal , and didn’t seem fresh . Wilted salad , chips and sandwiches with warm cheese, not good. 
Pleased dinner was Greek cuisine , good to taste the local dishes. 
Room was comfortable, daily service was good. Bathroom, shower , all acceptable. Quiet to sleep at night . 

There is a small steep hill for a couple of hundred metres up to the hotel so people with mobility issues need to check this out. 
A pleasant 15 minute walk to the beach . Plenty of shops and bars within two minutes walk of the hotel . 



Good staff average hotel. 

Stayed19/26sept,good location the hill was 2seconds uphill no problem!rooms ok very clean bath/shower fine ,don’t go holiday to stay in room ! Food ok not much choice but kept hot an eatable and acceptable,wine not good (no glasses)but not many all inclusive has good wine😂the staff all very friendly,and helpful work very hard ,the downside was the pool area  ,sunbeds very stained and dirty and pools grime needed good scrub I saw them put chemicals in and hose pool area but nobody scrubbed floor or washed covers on the sun beds !! I’m surprised TUI avnt done anything about it,the TUI rep were there but didn’t want to hear your views on anything at all😂incase they had to rectify it😂no entertainment only quiz and Greek dancin who were 3 young girls in  black leggings and tee shirts,🤷‍♀️we enjoyed our week stay. ,but won’t be back ,sad really as the staff great and work hard but nothing being done about sunbeds and pool area SHAME.😍

Could be much better!

Hotel was in a good location but that was about it. Two pools but one out of use the other didn't look very clean. Food usually cold although not too bad. The fried eggs were hard where they had been left out for hours. Bedroom OK but the bathroom horrible, the drain stank and to have a shower you had to put it on very low for hot water. All the staff seemed nice apart from one large man in the restaurant.. a smile costs nothing he seemed to be in charge but don't know what he was doing. All the other waiters were lovely.

Good location.  Disappointing stay.

Great first impressions, we arrived 20 minutes before lunch was finishing, the lovely reception guy asked us if we wanted to check in first or leave our luggage and go for food, we opted for food, now I am the world's most fussiest eater so I was concerned there wasn't going to be anything I liked, how wrong was I, totally opposite infact during the whole stay there was always something I liked, on one night there was 3 of my favourite dishes, I couldn't choose so I had some of each :) 
I think some of the negative comments on here are a bit harsh, yes I agree that the room was a little small (especially the tv) and the bathroom appearance wasn't the best but we wasn't on holiday to spend that much time in the room or watch TV so it didn't matter, never did we have any issues with no hot water, whether this be night or day, we were in room 213, with a partial sea view and had the maid servicing the room every day with fresh towels.
The downstairs pool was more inviting due to the Blue colour compared to the Green one on the rooftop, however, again, we still used both.
There was a vast array of drinks to choose from including very strong cocktails.
The staff were very nice.
Location wise to the town it is a minute walk from/to Paradise bar at the bottom end of the strip but a fair walk to the beach (20 mins) ish.
The hill that is being referred to in most reviews is not bad at all, its only very miniscule.
I would recommend hiring a quad bike at the hire shop across the road to explore the area, had a fun time.
Bars recommended- Magdalenas, Planet and Jokers, the ABBA and Phil Collins tributes were fab.
I would also recommend the Levante speedboat trips to the shipwreck and turtles, there are lots of people doing these trips for cheaper but they are not as good, Spiros is a great guy who takes you inside the caves and really close to the shipwreck, he will also find the turtles, the others don't guarantee this, you won't be disappointed.
To sum up our holiday we had a great time, weather was beautiful, the only negatives I would add are the hotel was a bit further from the beach than we had hoped and the room could have been bigger, the daytime/evening entertainment could be improved, we only saw one live act i
n the whole week which was Greek dancing, there was also a few nights of a quiz but not very organised, I think a barbecue night would be good and more theme nights, other than that thank you Altura for a nice stay.


Nice Stay

Goods points - nice sea view some rooms. Food/Drinks very good in my opinion. All staff very friendly. Tea/coffee facilities and good fridge in the room. Free safe (ask for the key) and Air con. Towels changed every day. Short journey from airport and hotel very close to centre of resort. 
Bad points - room unclean at start as reported in some other reviews. No WiFi in some rooms ( too far from reception). No hot water. Informed reception staff 3 nights on the trot (fell on deaf ears I think) only got hot water 2 nights out of 7 after complaining to the very nice Tui rep. No English TV channels. Did listen to a radio station though. No daytime activities.  Never once got asked to join in on anything. Waste of money employing the guy I think. Evening entertainment well, Greek night was almost over by the time we had eaten our evening meal. And I think we had a quiz 2 nights. That was it. I was told sister hotel over the road had a bloke playing a piano some nights but didn't venture over because unsure if our all inclusive was valid or not. Last but not least, no constant pool or hotel areas or toilet cleaning done.  My partner had to complain about the disabled toilet being disgusting almost every day. I would advise if you can get this on the very very cheap then do so as it has good and bad things but remember it's a Greek 3 star. Unfortunately I shall not return, for me I will spend more money on a better hotel elsewhere. The end.......

Altura Hotel Review.

So we visited the Altura Hotel a couple weeks ago for a week in September 2023 and our experience with the hotel facilities and the staffing was not at all of the quality we expect from a hotel with TUI’s name on it.

We arrived at the hotel in time for lunch so we went in for lunch and all of the food was cold and looked like it had been sat there for hours and clearly unsafe to eat. Also, while we were sat down all the staff started coming in and taking all the food.

We then went into our room which was disgusting there was hair all on the bed sheets, then on the bottom sheet there was blood over it, the balcony door didn’t lock, the glasses in the room had hairs in them and dirty liquid stains from the previous guests. The floor was covered in hair and sand where it had not been hoovered or swept. The bathroom was nothing like the pictures online, it was unfinished with just the plaster covering the walls, there were holes in the ceiling and the walls and the pipe work was all out whereas on the photos it shows you as having cupboards under the sink but this was not true. The shower drain was brown with muck and the shower had mould in the corners as well as on the actual shower head. Also as you can’t put toilet paper in the toilet in Greece you put it in the bin but the bin foot pedal was broken and the bin was brown and rusty.

When going to reception to try and resolve these issues they didn’t think there was a problem with the state of the room. I asked them to clean it and change the sheets and this was not done. They barged in the room on my partner and started shouting saying there was nothing wrong with it and screaming at her in Greek. Then the lady in charge came in who had the worst customer service I have ever experienced came in and was shouting at us saying how we shouldn’t have touched anything. 

So I got hold of our TUI reps (Chesca & Grace) who said to ask for a room change so after an hour of waiting I manage to look at a new room however it still wasn’t clean either with a lot of the same issues. I asked the reps how I wanted my money back and a flight home as it was not good enough or a hotel transfer. At first they said that I would only have to pay to upgrade to a new hotel which wasn’t good enough anyway as it wasn’t my fault. However, after speaking to them again they said I would have to pay a cancellation fee on top of what I had already paid for the holiday and then pay for another hotel because they had offered a room change which I had turned down due to it still being filthy. After having the cheek to say all that they also said if I wanted to leave I would have to pay a cancellation fee and pay for a new flight home as the flight I had paid for was in a week.

Eventually a room was cleaned to the lowest standards still but we had no other option as the  customer service all round was atrocious, and the reps at this hotel did not know how to resolve this problem in the correct way. Our new room made us feel unsafe due to the balcony door not locking and not even having the proper glass door that we had in the previous room. This made the evenings very noisy as staff would shout outside the balcony and due to not having a proper door was not noise proof.  Also in early hours of the morning staff members would shout at each other down the hallways which would wake us up. 

We had paid for all inclusive however ate out every night after we tried the hotel food a couple of times. We would arrive as dinner started at 7 and it would already be cold and an inedible.  We both became very ill after eating the food. As someone highly trained in food safety, I cannot believe that this hotel has not been shut down due to foot safety and hygiene as the food they are serving is as at its most dangerous state as it is not being held at the minimum holding temperature of 63 degrees. We tried to make the most of our all inclusive on drinks as we could not eat the food but the drinks were made without measures and you would have a drink which would be 3/4 filled with spirit and only a 1/4 mixer. So we couldn’t even enjoy a nice drink.

We then went to book an excursion with the TUI reps to go see the turtles and the shipwreck when we went to do this one morning they said not to book it now as we should go out for the day and do it in the evening, they said there was loads of space and it wouldn’t sell out. This was the thing that we wanted to do most when we booked to go to Zante and we came back that evening to book it and they said there must be technical difficulties because it was saying it was full so they restarted their iPad and it still said it was full so they then said we couldn’t do it. This is because it was fully booked and they didn’t apologise for this as it was their error. 

Two days out of our stay we came back from our day out at half 5, and the room was still not finished being changed so we couldn’t get ready for our evening as they hadn’t replaced the towels or made the beds so we had to wait until half 6 until the room was complete. Another day they never turned up to clean our room and change the towels.

Overall our experience of the hotel was dreadful and our experience from TUI team was horrendous I have been on countless TUI holidays in the past and they have been great but this has made me completely rethink the company.
