Was really looking forward to staying here , pictures look lovely , but on arrival found it was quite rundown , that’s the only way I can describe it , very shabby and neglected , I won’t say anymore , we stayed five minutes and left and found different accommodation , did struggle to find any recent reviews , last one being 2021 and that wasn’t a good one either , so why no reviews for the last two years ?

Rundown

At the begginning everything was good,But yesterday when i was with my wife,i was making a little bit of noise and the guy that works here,he threatened to kick me out, and if we opposed it, he would have called the police.
I lost two rings in the camera,and the conditioner lost water,the tv doesn’t work and the wif doesn’t work in the camera but only near the bar. I strongly advise you to stay in this facility

BAD HOTEL,AS SCARED

Markella studios is a must for us next time in Zakynthos. The rooms has the basics and are clean and nice. Zoe is so friendly and helpful. We felt very welcome. Athena who also work here makes the best Tzatziki in greece. Love her too. There is a man working in the bar and he makes the best Strawberry daiquiri. Now the rest is up to us to have a great holiday.

We went sept 2019 just what we wanted small hotel  very friendly and no pressure to pay until you leave.Zoe was lovely we hope to return once travel conditions relax..This is a real Greek hotel self run by the hosts .. very polite .. better than your larger main hotels .  . 100% from us

thanks to zoe and her team we have just had the best two week holiday I Greece at the markella studios, we stayed in a maisonette which was probably the best accommodation that we have ever stayed in, the swimming pool was great as was the lady at the bar and also the cleaning of our room was excellent, Zoe organised some trips for us as well, in all the staff were very helpful and friendly, Zoe we will be back, regards

●Towels change every 4-5 days.
●The air conditioning is charged extra and does not work properly.
●If you don't buy something at the bar, you're not allowed to sit at their tables. I was put aside even though all the other meals were free.
●The TV does not work and no action was taken although I announced from day one.
●The staff is not friendly.
●Insufficient and undiversified breakfast.
●The owner's children have installed a ps4 in the yard where they play all day and the other children sit and look at them.
●Small bed and small room.
●You are not allowed to drink by the pool
●The internet dose not work.

We stayed 11 nights in Markella Studios,in July '20.
A very bad situation: firstly, a very small room with 4 beds and a ridiculous kitchen with a broken fridge and cutlery over a garbage container. TV not working and no air conditioning..unless 4€/night charge (we refused). Wi-fi connection missing from the rooms.
We also tried for bigger 2-floors apartment "Maisonette" wich also had: again, not working TV/WiFi and generally an old structure with few seats,no table clothes,old cutlery.
And during the night with opened windows not to suffer hot without air conditioning (in 2020 would you pay 50€+ more for that?): a long concert by cocks, horses, cows, dogs, birds...all singing in unison! Let's go!
Paid really more than it deserved considering that no breakfast were included.
I can't understand who before me wrote about the owner as a nice person: many things disgusted me, she's so different from sincere kind real Greek people that I've known in many other occasions. 
We strongly advise against this structure,it doesn't deserve such an high requested money.

Embarassing situation

Great place to stay run by a lovely family. Clean accommodation, well serviced and close to the beach, restaurants and shops. Pool area lovely with sun lounges and decent size pool for swimming. Recommend this place definitely. 

Area nice, short walk to Taverns sea front and a few shops.
Accommodation a bit too basic tbh and furniture old and mouldy smelling. Towel change and bat math change only once in whole week. Huge problem with insects mosquitoes, beetles and wasps. Pool area nice, no music though. No entertainment at all. Would not recommend or return here. Found the Hostess Zoe shockingly rude and nasty sporadically to various guests. Her husband was nice to everyone. Shame as could be a little gem. The Island is lovely to see, hire a car as some lovely beaches.

Nice area Basic accommodation

We spent 5 nice days in this place. The owner she has been really very kind with us. The place is clean and spacious. Swimming pool amazing. The beach 3 minutes walking with nice restaurants and supermarket, a good strategic place.
The breakfast was good and all of the team very willing to satisfy us.
The only point is we asked lamps for the bed for reading and we did not get.
