Our apartment had an amazing view over Troulos Bay. The balcony was huge and would’ve been perfect if it had a couple of sunbeds or more luxurious seating rather than a plastic table & chairs.  With a little investment & upgrading, these apartments could be totally amazing. The furnishings are very basic & tired and there was a nasty smell in the kitchen & bathrooms even after bleaching.  There were bare wires dangling from the walls, big nails sticking from the wardrobe, drawer handles missing, the shower rail kept falling down and the strangest toilet arrangement ever - where it was impossible to use the loo without having one foot in the shower and a sort of bucket on the wall to flush. But ignore that and just enjoy the lovely view.

Our stay at Villa Zaharo y Lilian was fabulous, sadly we got off to a bad start as the airline company lost our suitcase, hence we were without holiday gear. Thank you to Stathis &  Kosta (snack bar owner) for making our stay so welcoming and for their kindness.  Not only did they offer us clothes, shoes etc on our first day they went out of their way to support us, which we will not forget.   This is our second time at Zaharo and the reason we returned was purely for their hospitality which cannot be faulted.  It´s the little small details that count when something goes wrong which is out of your hands, they called taxis and much more, the support was incredible, and the communication.   
The apartment we were given (number 6) was very spacious, had a big bedroom, kitchen, and terrace which overlooked the sea, the views are to die for.  Inside the bedroom were a double charger which helped us enormously, soap, shower gels and shampoo.  The room was cleaned and changed everyday, i liked that.  When we got to our apartment we forgot about our suitcase being lost as it was so easy to relax in this environment, the apartments are surrounded by foliage, and flowers absolutely beautiful setting, with only the crickets making noise.  It was very quiet and peaceful. 
The snack bar downstairs has a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea, the food is very good and reasonable. 
There is a bus stop within 5 minutes walking distance down the road, bus stop 20 which takes you to Skiathos town for 2 euros, you can buy your ticket from the supermarket or bus monitor.  Skiathos town and port is absolutely stunning, ther are two ports and the meandering back streets are worth the walk. 
Take the ferry from Skiathos town to Skopolos, takes about 1 hour and definitely worth the trip. Kastani the famous Mamma Mia beach is on Skopolos. 
We also take a boat trip on the Traditional Yacht with Konstantinos and his wife, its an all day trip with delicious food (Konstantinos is a chef) and they take you to different beaches. The boat is an old wooden one with character. 
All in all this is our 4th visit to Skiathos and 2nd time to Zaharo y Lilian and we´ll probably return again in the not too distant future but without a big suitcase LOL.

We are a family of 5, 2 adults, children 14, 7 & 5, we travelled in May 22 for 1 week & stayed in the 3 bedroomed Apartment. Booked last minute about a week before, it was a first visit to the island of skiathos although we have travelled to Greece many times prior. Arrival at the property was interesting as it was getting dark & there is no reception so abit of mooching about I found the owner, stathis, who was very welcoming & showed us the apartment, explained basic housekeeping & then respectfully left us to it. The apartment was fabulous, in a word, Huge! New & spotless fridge/freezer & cooker with halogen hob, microwave/kettle etc, all the rooms are generous & impeccably clean, balcony was ginormous with sea view. The location is stunning on Troulos bay, very quiet & quite small & secluded, there is water sports available, the apartments are literally down a short stones throw path on the beach, with lovely gardens & an area with fruit trees, it is so picturesque & soft sand beach with gentle lapping shore, perfect for kids & so relaxing & peaceful. The snack bar that is on site at the apartments is excellent, good value for money & tasty food, run by costas who is lovely, there is another snack bar abit further along set abit back from the beach & then a hotel at the other end of the beach. Troulos does not have a centre as such, it consists of accommodation & tavernas dotted along the sides of the main road, there’s not really any footpaths so walking out in the evening along the road when it is dark can be abit of a challenge! There is plenty of choice though & the food was delicious at each one we went to, I would recommend the restaurant salt & pepper for a good quality meal in nice surroundings. There is a bus stop & shop selling just about everything approx  150 metres from the apartments. We got the bus into skiathos town one evening & it is a 15 minute bus ride but be prepared as the buses are PACKED! The last one runs at 10pm, we spoke to someone who got a taxi back which was about 16 euros. 2 sun beds & umbrella is 10 Euro, air conditioning is unlimited & free in the apartments. 
We loved it here, if you are after nightlife & a bustling resort then this is definitely not for you, I would describe it as Greece in old Money, so to speak, un commercialised with old charm. Apartments are not cram packed full of mod cons, which we didn’t want, there was only 1 day the cleaner didn’t come in & the apt was spotless, and I mean spotless!  towels & bedding changed aswell.  The owner stathis is really approachable, there are no faults I can pick at. I would say the Apt’s would not be overly suitable for anyone with walking difficulties or wheelchair users as they are on different levels & Afew steps especially to some of the higher ones, the only other thing to note is that the beach attracts quite Afew people, they arrive on quad bikes/foot/bus as potentially the beach serves a biggish area so my advice would be bag yourself sun beds early to avoid disappointment if planning a day around the beach. I would recommend this property to anyone, excellent value for money, clean and in a beautiful place, what more is there?!!!

Discovery of a Gem of a spot!

Been for lunch a few times this week. Great food, fantastic friendly service, top location with great sea & beach views! Recommend the Pork or Chicken Souvlaki! We will return whenever we’re in the area! Keep up the good work! Excellent value!

Great Lunch Spot

Vila Zaharo has a perfect location, nice view, quiet, closed to Skiathos Town- 20 minutes by bus. The rooms and bathrooms are old. We enjoy a lot the Troulos Beach and the blue water. Skiathos island is very, very, very beautiful!

Perfect location

Just checked out of Villa Zaharo this morning after a short stay. The staff were so helpful and friendly nothing was ever any trouble. The room was massive and air-con great. We had a massive terrace. The apartments are right on the beach so the location was perfect. Couldn’t ask for more thank you so much. I would definitely return here.

I have been to Villa Zaharo on July 2019.

The best part is the Troulous beach, which is nearby at 50m, not crowded, perfect for families with small children. Everyday, a family of swans is crossing by. The pair of chairs on the beach is 8 Euro. The staff was nice, but the cleanliness was extremely poor, the poorest and the most unsanitary I have ever encountered and I travel a lot in Greece. 

The worst part are the rooms in which I have stayed with my family and friends (Lilian building, ground floor, 4 rooms):
- the smell of mold would make you cough
- there was also a smell of urine from the sewerage
- yellow towels (once white) washed with water and no detergent at the hotel, you felt the sun cream of the previous users on them. I asked twice for clean towels, once I received some good ones, the other time I received some new white towels which did not absorb any water
- the paint on the shower cabin was gone, so it was half grey
- the water tap in the shower was broken
- no dusting of the room, I dusted it myself
- some old cleaning utensils left in the bathroom
- the kitchen and the trash cans were with a layer of fat and dust, not advisable to touch
- old furniture, hard pillows

I think the terrible poor rooms are only offered to Romanian travel agencies.... So, if you are a Romanian, travelling from Romania, make sure you check with the agency how the rooms look, as they have nothing to do with the pictures on the websites / tripadvisor, which are decent looking.

Poor Experience for Romanian Travelers

Ok, so its slightly basic, fridge, beds, cooker etc but who cares we didn't, rooms very clean, Trolous beach a few yards away, what more could you ask for, been here a few times, just love the place, quiet, relaxing, Stathis is a fab host, very helpful, going back in 2019, can't keep away.

Fab, relaxing, just fab!!

We had a great stay in an ocean-view clean and cozy studio. Very pleasant, welcoming and helpful staff. The beach at the end of the property's yard (30 meters from the apartments building!) is a real treat.
Note that WiFi is available only in the property's restaurant, not in the apartments. The access to our apartment was by climbing many stairs which might be difficult for the elderly.

We spent 3 nights here before moving closer to Skiathos. It is a 4 star rating only because of the hard beds but the rooms are lovely traditionally Greek apartments and all have stunning views of the lovely bay at Troulos. I think mattress toppers would solve this and the owners said they were considering this. I would certainly go back if they invested in these. The a/c included in the room rate is a welcome bonus and having a kitchenette was great. The owners were really friendly and helpful and run a little taverna which was great for snacks or breakfast. 
We had a sparrow family in residence on our balcony and the parent birds were fascinating to watch coming and going with all manor of insects for their demanding chicks!
The beach area was well organised and not overcrowded but has 3 tavernas, a hotel and supermarket to source food. The gyros were cheap and delicious and the hotel food was good and very reasonably priced. The bream was gorgeous. 
The terrapins and swans added to the lovely natural environment and it was a joy to swim there with a soft sandy beach sloping gently into clear blue water. We really enjoyed our stay here.
