Lovely hotel. Dimitris is a great host and his staff are charming. The hotel has beautiful views and is worth the climb with your case. The breakfast terrace is glorious.  Great swap and share book shelf in reception – ask Dimitris. Would recommend 

Very hospitable and great views

A wonderful, friendly little hotel with fantastic staff. Everyone are so nice and helpful. A supernice small  restaurant with a breathtaking view where the breakfast was served every morning. Thank you for a lovely stay Demitris! 

A pearl on the beautiful island Skiathos

We stayed at Villa Orsa in the first week of June. We originally booked room 16 for 10 days but due to booking mix ups, we spent part of our stay in room 16 and part in room 10. This wasn’t really a problem for us because when we originally booked, we struggled to decide which of these 2 rooms to choose so we got the best of both.
Villa Orsa is traditional Greek, the lay out and furnishings of wood and marble make it feel more like you are being welcomed into someone’s home and the welcome we received on arrival from Dimitris and the staff underscored that.
The building itself is situated in the Plakes region of Skiathos and is all but impossible to get to by car so if you are infirm, have young children, or lots of luggage, be advised that whether you come in from the top (via the old medical centre) or in from the bottom (through the old port), there will be lots of steps to negotiate.
Most of the balconies in the Villa overlook the bay of the old port and from our 2 rooms we were spoilt with 12 hours of sunshine and the steady stream of fishing boats in the morning, pleasure boats, ferries and planes going past.

Dimitris, the owner, is more than happy to chat with guests about the island, it’s history & culture 
and advise on places to go and things to see. He told us of the stories of Alexandros 
Papadiamantis invited us to go diving with him, fishing on his boat, and even arranged to meet us 
up in the mountains near Kechria to gives us a tour of some of the old churches in the area.
Every morning at breakfast he would ask if everything was ok and what plans we had for the day, if we told him of a particular place that we intended visiting he would tell us what was near-by that also may interest us.
The staff never made us feel like guests, we felt more like friends which is quite normal for Skiathos, that’s why we keep going back each year.



Hotel Villa Orsa

The view was amazing and is in a quiet and tranquil position, BUT, it was not clean, the bathroom was just about non functional and flooded every time you took a shower in the small cubicle as the shower curtain did not reach the base! The linen was very tatty and the bottom sheet didn't tuck in properly (not fitted) so the bed was always a mess in the morning and was not made up  after our first night. Breakfast was very rudimentary and it all felt very awkard with a male staff member mooching around looking sullen and making himself a coffee from an expresso maching whilst the guests were left to boil and make their own. He then sat on a couch smoking (no one else was) and ignored everybody. The place has so much potential, but i think the elderly owner has not kept up the necessary ongoing maintence. Such a shame. This is the first time i felt the need to have to write a bad review.

Beautiful view, but!

Like most hotels and seaside resorts in the Mediterranean area, the hotel isn’t fancy but simple, clean and comfortable. Villa Orsa also offers a really hospitable owner and staff, kind and forthcoming. But its biggest advantage is the view – stunning. Situated, in the old city, just at the sea, a few minutes walk from the harbor, shopping and the restaurants. A bit expensive, but not that much.

Location, location, location

We are an italian couple and we spent 5 days in Villa Orsa. Our stay in this hotel was straordinary. Room was clean with a Window with a beautiful Sea view ( unfortunately our room did not have balcony because when we booked there was not availablility ). 
The hotel has a beautiful terrace with a super view where every morning we had a good breakfast. Mr Dimitri Is a very kind Person. Always available to give us suggestions in the Island and asking if we were Happy and if we Needed anything. 
We strongly recommend Villa Orsa for your staty in Skiathos.

A wonderful Place

We had a amazing time at Villa Orsa. Stayed for 1 week in October 2021. The view from the room was spectacular. The owner Dimitris was very helpful and kind, a genuine nice person. The breakfast area was stunning. We will definitly come back here.

Amazing!

We loved the view from our balcony sat with a cold beer you don’t get much better than that.
Great location near bars and restaurants but still quiet enough.
Room was clean and spacious bathroom  was the  only down fall. The shower cubicle is just to small my husband is 6 ft and nearly 15 st and he really struggled.
The owner is very helpful and allowed us to keep our room till late at no extra charge.
Would definitely stay again.

Great hotel beautiful view

We booked Orsa for 4 nights at the start of our holiday before moving onto a villa. The location is lovely with great views and it's just a short walk from everything Skiathos town has to offer, albeit up a steep set of steps. Be warned that you can't drive up to the hotel. We couldn't believe how far we had to walk from where the taxi dropped us off to get to it with heavy cases. If you have mobility issues of any kind it's simply not an option. The hotel itself was smaller than the impression the website gives. I can't believe they have more then 6 or 7 rooms. And if I'm honest the website photos do flatter rather. The hotel owner is lovely and everywhere was impeccably clean but it is a bit tired throughout. The breakfast area is starting to feel a bit sad - stairway down to the beach out of commission, weeds growing where there could be flowers. Our room whilst clean felt dated: drying rack on the balcony coming away from the wall, bathroom decor in need of a spruce up. For what we paid I didn't expect top luxury and it did a job for us just fine. No real complaints as such but a bit below what we were expecting.

Great location, friendly family run but a bit tired

We found this hotel walking through the old town of Skiathos when first visited, four years ago. Now we’ve been there twice and we will stay there if we go to Skiathos another time. Situated just west of the restaurants in the old Port, you’re in the middle of it. Still it’s location makes the place much more quiet than most of it’s neighbours. The standard is good, typical of a holiday resort in the mediterrenean countries. Clean and with a friendly staff, especially the owner Dimitris
