We were at the Philoxenia for five days in July, and we had a great time, personal prices always available and the perfect location to walk around the city centre or to move to the beaches.

Small refuge

Over the years I’ve stayed in several of the pensions on Skiathos. Filoxenia (Fee-L-KSenia, say it right for the taxi), is a new favorite. It’s located toward the end of Papadiamante. The port is an easy walk, but I’d recommend a taxi to the ferry with luggage. 

The hotel is spotless, the marble floors, linens, and bathrooms are kept in pristine condition. You’ll find no dust or mess and I particularly liked that the floors are one height, no stepping up an inch into the bathroom or the balcony—and less chance to stub my toes every time I go there. The staff is helpful, patient, and kind. Occasionally we had a language barrier, but we managed just fine. 

The balcony is comfortable to dry clothes on or to sit and relax. There is breakfast available for a small fee. I’m gluten-free and it’s mostly breads and cakes. It is convenient, although breakfast is available almost anywhere in the port area. On my last day before continuing my journey I asked for only milk and an egg—if I’d figured out how to say that in Greek sooner I’d have done it the entire trip.

There’s a tiny grocer on the corner with good fruit and basics to supplement, and there’s a refrigerator in your room. You can purchase bottled water for a small price there too. 

I’m looking forward to staying there again soon. It’s not too far from bus stop three for beach access. (Upper end of the street and turn right.) Bus stop four is the other way, but I don’t recommend it. The traffic is fast and dangerous in that direction. 

Excellent Three Star Pension in Skiathos

The bathroom is a bit small, tent with shower but basically comfortable. They also give you a professional phon x we women...so you don't have to wear it ;) Very clean!!! And the staff are too kind. The location is perfect, a few steps from the center but quiet. I recommend it!!!

It's very tight.

The location is excellent, away from the downtown mess and convenient for supermarket, barbecues and car rental. Very clean room (the only thing a little unpleasant was a strange smell in the bathroom) with a large terrace. What really impressed us was the staff's availability and kindness. We had some small setbacks and they tried to help us in every way... really, we felt almost in the family! We strongly recommend!

Nice and clean hotel

We were three cypriot girls for 3 days!This hotel is very clean and amazing! The stuff is very friendly and polite! Totally recommend it! We enjoyed our stay! Even we got dissapointed from the people in the island, they showed the good side of it!

Very welcoming hotel

We stayed at the Filoxenia from 18.07.2018 to 25.07.2018.What struck me most was the extreme sympathy and total availability of the owners. The hotel is located a few meters from Main Street...a quiet and discreet street..but just walk a few meters and you'll find yourself catapulted into the joyful euphoria of the village. Nice and clean hotel...well managed by the owners...very kind and very available people. The Wi-Fi works perfectly... near the hotel there is a car rental and a mini market. Our room with a refrigerator and was an extremely comfortable double bed. Thank you for those who don't want to spend a lot of time but want to feel good.

Relax at Skiatos!

Very nicely located except when guests do not respect the rest of their neighbors. Smile and efficient accommodation. Spacious, functional room. Very good bed. A breakfast is available and served on your balcony.

A hotel with minimalist decoration, exceptional cleanliness.

This hotel is perfect for the bars and restaurants being just 50m from Main Street. The hotel is clean and bright and the rooms airy with the added advantage of air con and safe key included in the price so no extras to pay!

Little Gem in Great Location

This is a typical Greek basic hotel with no pool, but it is clean and rooms are quite large, shower a bit small and flooded the bathroom. But that was only negative, at the top of papademantis street in the heart of the town a lovely stroll to the harbour to get on the water taxis to the beaches, also near the bus stops. Near numerous bars and restaurants but quiet , staff friendly but leave you to your own devices. . If you want somewhere just as a base as you are out and about everyday it's perfect !

Did what it said on the tin !

I always book and sleep here. First of all for the warmth and patience of the family that takes care of it, but above all for the cleanliness that makes it unique. It doesn't matter if it doesn't have lilies and brasses. It's perfect for those who don't want to spend much and especially for the strategic location they enjoy.
