You might be not thrilling of emotion when you get next to the hotel. But after exploring the area, there will be some pros to list: 1. remote place with no neighboring hotels around, which gives you more space on the beach; 2. the beach is just on the other side of the road; 3. affordable price; 4. friendly & modest personnel; 5. bus station next to the hotel. The hotel consists of 20 blocks of 2 houses. Each house has a kind of terrace. The garden could look much better. There is a nice pool and not many people around it. Investing more physical work, this place could be a pearl, but it's just a motel as displayed ob the billboard. Breakfasts are limited in choice. I was surprised to have only one type of black olives, and even those not of the best quality; no cheese specialties. This is a real disappointment. Dinner is ok. 2 times per week the owner is cooking. Seems he does it with passion and spices and the dishes are simple but very tasty. 5 mins walk to the right and you get in the big mess of Olympic Beach. Restaurants, shops and hotels - everything there. Take a look at the beach. It's overcrowded. You will love the beach of Edem. 30 - 40 mins walk to the left and you reach Paralia Katerini. Buses also go there. At evening hours it's more than overcrowded - it's jammed. Hotels are close to each other, music, noise and LIDL. The last is the main attraction. For excursions refer to Tasionas Travel with the lowest prices. You'll find Tasionas representatives in Olympic beach as well. Romanian tourists get lower prices. Went to Skiathos, Meteoras and Olymp with EUR 50. The receptionist may organize a private car for travelling. Take a bus (EUR 1.50 one way) to Katerini, get off at the 2nd Church you'll see (the church is magic) and move on to the shopping areas. Nothing that special. Happy that I bought mount tea. Won't describe the rooms, you can see them in the pics. The sea is not that bluish as shown in all adverts. Looks like Black Sea, but warmer a bit. Beware of blue jellyfish!!! During wavy periods algae are too many and create a bit of discomfort. The main reason tourists are coming to Pieria is the proximity to main attractions. Prices are also ok. People are nice and relaxed. Almost forgot: On the way to Olympic Beach there will be sellers of fruits - always cheaper than 3 minutes later. For those who need fun and disco life, you'd better move to Paralia Katerini. The only 2 night clubs are located there. Enjoy your holidays for a fair price!
