Villa Christiana

We are in our mid-seventies and late forties and stayed for the last two weeks of June in a two bedroom apartment in Villa Marianna in Valtos. We went with Thomas Cook from Manchester. Two of us were last in Parga 13 years ago (Angelica Apartments). We were in room No 5 which was closest to Mango Club which is right next door. We did not suffer any problem from the low key music from Mango Club. Well received by Paul and soon installed in our apartment. Had the safe and paid along with the room tax. Plenty of space in the apartment with a massive balcony. The canopy had us puzzled for a bit as it did not seem to want to open but with a bit of releasing of a few catches it was fine. You could of course just ask Paul to do it for you as he is very attentive and helpful. One bedroom has a double bed the other two singles. TVs in each room with access to the usual Greek channels and BBC international news. Storage space in the double bed was quite limited but it did have a dressing table. There was a hair drier in each bedroom and even an ironing board in the twin room (we did not search to see if there was an iron!). Cannot comment on the cooking facilities as we did not cook. Microwave oven, kettle, good size fridge but no toaster (it is possible that the microwave had a grill that could be used for toast) and three hob rings. Bathroom adequate, shower a bit small but had a curtain and able to use the shower hands free. There was liquid soap provided and always toilet rolls which some people seem to stress about. We never ran out of hot water but it was very hot all the time we were there. Cleaning is every day and to a very high standard. Beds made every day even if you had done them yourself to a high standard with hospital corners and everything! We even left our breakfast pots by mistake one day and they were washed and put away (felt very guilty) Occasional little present left on fancy folded sheet. Towels and sheets changed twice a week (I think could be more as when made by the lady hard to tell). We managed without the air con for our first week but paid €50 for the second week as it got hotter and hotter. The aircon has only one unit which is in the kitchen/diner so to get the full benefit you have to leave the bedroom doors open but with a bit of organisation you can alternate which door is open. Wi-Fi worked most of the time, and was free of course, if a little slow at times. Less than ten minutes to the beach via Costa Azul bar where the sun beds are free if you use the cafe. Look out for Manoli who will make sure you have happy time on his sunbeds. There are a few books in the reception room along with the TC book that has your pick up times. We were able to keep our rooms for €25 until our pick up time (Manchester) of 5.10pm which was worth its weight in gold.
