Thesmos Village

We only booked for one night and now wish we stayed longer before moving on to Nydri. Lovely drive down the coast and past the small town of Mytikas we easily found the entrance on the main road. I had messaged ahead on booking.com to see if we could check in early and was told it wouldn’t be a problem. We arrived just before noon and were told room wouldn’t be long and were taken through to the pool area to wait and ordered 2 cold beers. When the room was ready was told I had booked a standard ground floor room which seemed to be at rear of the property with not great views in what looked like a newer building. However she then said that as it was quiet we could have an upgrade to a first floor room with a big balcony and stunning views, so of course we agreed. One hour and 2 more beers later we were off the sun beds and in the room with our luggage. Superb large room with huge balcony also accessible from the bedroom. Fully kitted out kitchen and decent sized bathroom as well. There are mosquito nets throughout and electronic shutters to keep out the light and noise at night. The 2 pools are lovely and there are steps down to a small beach which is shingle and sea is very rocky. We were able to book a table on the front and watch the sunset and pre order all our food and drinks for a meal at 8pm. The few other guests seem to self cater so we ate alone in a stunning setting. The other option is head into town if you have a car or we were told somebody would take us in and pick us up! The only things we could fault slightly was the air con stopped working in the night so it was hit and the small tv. Incredible secluded spot and would highly recommend.
