You are a guest in the family. Thats the feeling. We are travelling a lot. About 4-5 times every year.this was the first trip to Samos. We find this hotel and we are very happy.
We never got this type of feeling in another hotel. Its small quiet, perfect location, clean and this type of kindness from the owner family Chiotis was super. Many good tips and information. Sometimes a coffe and sometimes a little bit more. We love it and we will be back.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in the early summer. Rooms were basic, but clean, and had a nice patio area where we ate all of our meals. While we never used the pool -- the ocean and sandy beach are only a 5 minute walk away -- the surrounding garden makes the entire area more enjoyable to just sit around in. Plus, it is set back far enough from the road that nighttime noise is limited to the chirping of insects.

The downside of this is that the place is a little hard to find if you've never been there before. Note the location on the map, since there isn't any obvious sign visible from the main road...or, at least, we never saw one. Even though Marathokampos is a vacation town, it is far from the main ferry ports and airport, so it would qualifiy as "off the beaten path". Nice if you're looking to avoid the crowds, but don't expect to rely on public transportation to get there. Bus service does exist, but is not frequent. So, unless you have lots of time to kill, you'll be renting a car or taking a taxi.

The nearby beach is sandy, which is great unless the weather is windy (blowing sand). No problem; there's a pebble beach only a 15-minute drive away.

OK: so it is a bit hard to get to, not beachfront, and not super-luxury. Then why a rating of 5?

Simple: the owners. They are almost always on site -- pruning the flowers, checking on the pool, visiting with guests, giving advice on places to go and how to get there. Stuff that locals know, but guidebooks miss. The owner's father took particular interest in ensuring we saw the best parts of the island. Really a pleasant experience, and it made our trip much more memorable, as a result. We're already talking about when we can go back.

Just waiting to board our flight back home and wanted ro review our break. We booked last minute to tey abd get a peaceful week in the sun and we were really lucky to come across Samos and the Albatros Apartments in particular. Fantastic week in  lovely surroundings. Apartment was clean and comfy and the grounds were so pretty. Lovely pool as well.  Perfect spot for relaxing and couldn't have asked  for more.  Manolis and George are so helpful - nothing is any trouble. Will definitely come back to this hidden gem 

Just spent a week at Albatross Apartments and it was great! Nice and kind owners with good service. The apartments are quite simple but OK. Pool is great and because it's not a big hotel you it's calm and you are often alone by the pool.

Near restaurants and the beach. Not a "party-area" wich is good.

Just spent the last week of September at the Albatross. The rooms are spacious and clean, with 3 single beds, a kitchen area with fridge, hob and sink. There is a free safe. The view from our balcony was of the pool and sea. There is free WIFI available around the whole complex.  

There is a mini mart near the main entrance, and bars and restaurant within walking distance.

There are plenty of car hire companies if you wish to explore the island. We hired a couple of quad bikes for the day which was great fun and only 20 euros each.

I would definitely go back to the Albatross again.
