Marianthi Paradise

Amazing location, family run self catering apartments, basic but adequate, room cleaned every day, comfy bed, came for a wedding there were quite a few of us and the family looked after us well. Food on site good quality and reasonable priced. Traditional Greek and peaceful. Molivos is stunning. 20 min walk into town down hill or taxi 7 euro.

Such lovely place to go in Lesvos. Perfectly situated with an amazing view of the ocean and just a 10 minute walk into town. It’s a family run hotel and they care so much for all of their guests, perfect Greek experience. Take your own little bit of washing up liquid and towel if you want to use the kitchenette or like a brew at night. Air con costs per day but well worth it in the heat of summer and it’s really not that much. We’ll be back! YAMAS!

I travelled solo in August and this was just what I wanted. It was really peaceful, and just a short 10-15 min walk into town. There’s also a small supermarket at the end of the road. The host was waiting for me to arrive and introduced himself and his brother who run the place. My room was spacious, and had two balconies - overlooking both the sea, castle and their family farm. The pool was clean and had plenty of sun beds to use. It was never crowded. I can’t get over how nice and friendly they were and how peaceful it was. I’ll definitely be back!

Wow- stuck for words to describe just how fantastic this place is. I rarely review but felt utterly compelled to do so. Firstly Vasilis and family are the most genuine and hard working hosts you could ask for. Talk about going above and beyond, they are there for you whenever you need. A lovely human touch that can be missing on other holidays; you certainly get here. 

The location is superb- gorgeous countryside and a view of the beautiful town of molyvos. More on that later.

The pool area is well kept and whilst the facilities may appear slightly dated, they are perfectly functional and the grounds are just stunning.

A quick 15 minute walk down the slight slope to town or a €6 taxi (€12 to Petra which is worth a visit for beach goers).

Molyvos is like a movie set, perfectly preserved, loads of wonderful restaurants and bars and not crammed full of tourists. 

If you want an authentic Greek experience, this is 100% it. Hidden gems are hard to find these days but this is one.

A final big shout of to Georgia from Jet2. We had a small medical issue and she sorted us with medical attention and phoned the local pharmacist and A&E that very moment. 

There’s a lovely human touch about this place. People are trusting and extremely friendly. If you don’t visit, it’s your loss!

Loved this place. 
My daughter and I were in need of sun, tonnes of Greek salad, somewhere to wander about and explore, somewhere to relax and read, somewhere value for money. And we hit the jackpot with this place.
Vasilis knew our names within 2 minutes and was on hand for anything. Our room had 2 balconies so we could look at the sheep in the family’s farm behind, the mountains, Dad’s prolific vegetable patch, the sea, the sunset, the village and castle lit up on a night. This is a view I’d never get tired of seeing, especially out on the wooden terrace eating Mum’s homemade food, served by gregarious Vasilis or shy Christos. We even got to see Mrs Vasilis and their very cute son one evening. 
If you know Greece, know basic Greek accommodation, understand the economic hardship they’ve been through due to the pandemic then you’ll like it. If you’re expecting Premier Inn type accommodation then you won’t. Our room was very tired, needing a new bathroom and new mattresses. The pool needs new sun beds and parasols. The kitchen facilities are minimal. It’s a shame 2 new little holiday buildings are being built on the land next door. 
But Marianthi had everything we needed, was cleaned daily by lovely staff, there  was a book exchange, the air con worked as did the hair dryer. It’s a manageable walk or taxis were €6. There are supermarkets that will deliver (not the nearest one, but the one next to the pharmacy and TK’s up in the old town) but Vasilis sells bottles of water singly or in 6 packs to save you carrying them. There are snacks, ice creams, drinks, breakfast/brunch/lunch choices, delicious evening meals, alcohol -  and people to chat to if you want to. Plenty of space to park if you hire a car (which we would if there’s a next time 🤞🏻).
With quiet apart from the occasional clanking sheep bell or braying donkey, this is the authentic Greece you’re looking for.

Highly recommended!  Lesvos is such a beautiful island. You must visit! This is our 2nd visit this year to Marianthi, we enjoyed it so much in June that we had to visit the island again and staying at the family run marianthi was a must. The apartments are clean and spacious with spectacular views of molyvos,  especially the castle.  The owner vasilis is an excellent host, friendly,  caring and very funny. Vasilis mum is an excellent cook too. Plus you will find his dad tendering to the allotment in the grounds. We intend to visit many times in the future.

I booked here last minute with Jet2, not knowing what I as getting, and I’m glad I went! When I arrived I was greeted by Vasilis, whose family own and run Marianthi Paradise. He’s lovely, friendly and very helpful, as is Christos and their mother, who is a fantastic cook. As well as English food, they serve traditional Greek food, which is amazing. The Moussaka is the best I’ve ever had! The Souvlaki and Stifado are so tasty, and the chicken and potatoes were beautifully cooked. They also have beer, soft drinks, ice creams etc, so you’re well catered for.

The rooms have everything you need, and the pool area is well kept, with great views of the castle and town. You’re about a 20 minute walk away, or Vasilis or one of the team will happily call you a cab. Molivos itself is a lovely place, with plenty of choice for restaurants and bars - if you like Gyros, make sure you visit Friends.

Returned to marianthi after a few years molivos break , hosts vasillas and Christos are genuine warm and entertaining brothers who run the miraianthi  . What adheres us to here is my spouse and I don't feel pressurised and we do our own thing ,walks and chilling at marianthi in afternoon  ,always have a glass of vino and a chat at the bar area before heading into town .marianthi is one of a few budget self catering apartments in molivos and believe me  vasillas and Christos are the most friendly,even quirky and funny humoured which I appreciate . The rooms are cleaned and bleach mopped daily,bins emptied not intrusive. We enjoyed our fortnight so much and missed molivos we rebooked for a month next year . Yammas . 

Fabulous view excellent service rooms cleaned every day. Would definitely return. Authentic greek family run apartments .mama's home cooked food and good bar prices everything you need for self catering

Greek Paradise in the Molyvos Hills

We visited the Maranthi for the first this year, thought the apartment was dated and basic we had a fabulous holiday here. 
From the maids who came every day and nothing was too much trouble to Vasilis, Christoph and of course Mamma who were friendly and the perfect hosts
These apartments are a 20 min walk into Molovos but us it was worth it, sitting on the hill we had fabulous views of Molovos and the surrounding hills.
The sunsets from here were amazing.
We would definitely return.

Amazing location. Peaceful and serene. Great sea view with an astonishing daily sunset. Or a fantastic mountain view with an astonishing daily sunrise. 15min walk to the beach, shops, and action.
Authentic Greek-friendly family who grow on their land the best feta cheese and tomatoes on the island.
Everything was clean and accommodating. I would definitely visit again
