Situated between two orchards, with a sea view beyond the citrus groves to the south and a lovely landscape over the orange trees to the north, this small apartment block with welcoming palm trees and jasmine in the front yard is a great Peloponnesian hideaway. The rocky promontory (Kastraki) and neighbouring Barbouna hill – both with histories going back millennia – serve to screen you from the resort of Tolo which, though somewhat brash, possesses one of the finest beaches I have ever seen and is only a 15-minute walk from Christina apartments. Nearby historic Nafpoli and the fantastic ruins of Tyrins and Epidavros are within easy driving time. The apartment itself is comfortable enough (nice bed), is cleaned daily and of course has air-conditioning. The concierge lives on site and is helpful and affable. The only reason I haven’t given Christina the “full five” is the occasional noise from the otherwise sleepy road on which it is situated and some minor issues with bathroom layout and kitchen utensils, Sum-up: you will love it here.
