Villa Christina

We decided to visit Spetses for a night during our three month stay in Greece. Why, oh, why did we only book one night at Villa Christina? It was a pure delight. I had booked directly via the website and it was so easy! We arrived at the port in Spetses and walked the 200m or so up from the port. When we arrived, it was only around 11 am and not surprisingly our room was not ready but we were welcomed by our host Angela, a lovely lady. So friendly and helpful. The kind of person who immediately makes you feel at home. She advised us to leave our bags, go and have a beer or cold drink and return in 30 minutes when our room would be ready. Sure enough, 30 minutes later, we were shown to our ground floor room, overlooking the shaded courtyard. The room was lovely and cool and a welcome respite from the heatwave coursing through Greece. Not only did we have a brilliant aircon unit but also a ceiling fan. Villa Christina is well positioned, close to the port but away from the bustle of the town. It is a little oasis of calm and tranquility. Breakfast is served in the courtyard, under the shade of a lemon tree, such a delight. Angela is a wonderful host. Calm and unflappable but with a great sense of humour. She gives the impression that nothing is too much trouble. My only regret is that we only booked one night. However, we will definitely be back and for longer next time. If you are looking for a comfortable stay in Spetses, I cannot recommend Villa Christina highly enough. Mr Wallet!
