Great hotel and staff lovely to have the beach so close by . the pool was enjoyable nice and clean with plenty of sun loungers..the food was really nice and a great for vegetarians.friendly staff nothing was too much trouble..

Fabulous holiday 

It was our first holiday in Kefalonia and this hotel and we hope to return because we were sad to leave! It was such a comfortable, relaxing and refreshing week. All of the staff were so friendly, welcoming and efficient. The room was well equipped , a decent size , spotlessly clean  with air conditioning and had good storage facilities. The twin beds were comfortable but a tad too firm for my arthritic bones. However after requesting  a mattress topper the receptionist ensured that one was added to my bed almost immediately! 

We enjoyed the food at breakfast and dinner and it was so lovely to sit outside to eat in the mornings The views from the hotel are superb and it’s set in the most stunning position in a sheltered bay with comfortable loungers around the pool and direct access to a lovely little beach. The beach bar and cafe is so convenient for lunch, snacks and drinks. 

Thank you to the management and all of the staff for ensuring that our stay was the best it could be. No wonder there so many guests return.

Unclean room on arrival, it was cleaned after request 

Rooms no sound insulation so can hear literally everything 

Breakfast started well but eggs cold even after explaining twice

Quite dated now and certainly doesn’t feel like a 4 star

Positives are the location to a wonderful beach, beach bar good food, balconies for sea view rooms lovely 

Disappointed 

Returned last Sunday from this wonderful hotel which was our 2nd visit & already planning our return next September.From start to finish was excellent,checked in on arrival by really friendly receptionists to a sea view room on the first floor so no need to use the lifts,we booked half board again as we really enjoyed the food back in June 2019.Same again very good food in the restaurant both breakfast & Evening meal,restaurant very clean & well run by the superb Lambros who I rate as the most friendliest restaurant manager with a smile & a warm welcome for everyone,every morning we had breakfast on the terrace  also kept very clean.Well done to the lovely ladies who kept our room spotlessly clean,thankyou,love the location of this hotel its in the perfect position for the beach with a lift down to the beach for anyone with walking difficulties,a slight hill upto the main road but not a problem for us,bus stop for Argostoli just a couple of minutes walk & bus fare €2 each way or €8 taxi ride & usually several taxis waiting outside hotel,we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday here last week,the staff,the cleanliness in all the public areas,we didn't use the pool or the sunbeds as we spent our spare time on the beach & got 2 sunbeds & umbrella for €7..we can't wait for our next visit to this lovely hotel

Belated return trip

We stayed in the Hotel Mediteranee and the hotel itself was lovely.
Maid service every day with towel change every other day.
Reception staff were very pleasant.
We are not pool people but did notice that guests were putting their towels out early but in the hotels defence if the guest wasn't on the sunbed within a reasonable time, a member of staff moved the towel enabling someone else to have the sunbed.
The food was lovely but unfortunately I have Coeliac Disease and while there was gluten free options, cross contamination was an issue so I did have to stick to foods like salads, cheeses, meats and fruit and jelly and ice cream.
Kefalonia is a beautiful island and we were very fortunate to see turtles playing in Argostoli and one hatch from a nest on the beach and make its way down to the sea. It was an amazing experience.

This alone has made the holiday for us. Great hotel. Great views, nice beach, hard working staff, reasonable taxi fares into Anastoli.

Staying here at the moment. It's a large hotel in a great location next to a lovely, sandy beach and a very short walk from the restaurants and bars of Lassi. It has a large, well maintained pool. Great for a cooling swim. The hotel attracts an older clientele, so don't expect music around the pool or lively entertainment. It's quiet and relaxing all the way here. Suits me, but wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea.  Beware of the dreaded reserving of sunbeds. It happens a lot here (as it does in so many places now), so be prepared to get up early for a place around the pool. You pay for sunbeds on the beach where 2 and an umbrella for hotel guests are 7€ for the day. Reasonably priced, but again, by 10am they're pretty much all gone, so snooze you lose at this hotel. Not great if you're not an early riser! 

Hotel decor and rooms are a little dated, but beds are comfy, the shower is good, air conditioning works well and the hotel is kept very clean, so no complaints at all in terms of comfort and cleanliness from me. The lifts are efficient and everywhere is accessible for those with mobility issues. 

Staff really are the main asset to this hotel. They are genuinely lovely people who can't do enough for you and that goes for all of them, from the cleaners to the restaurant staff. Big shout out to Alexandra and Lambros in the restaurant. They've done a fantastic job of making us feel so welcome and at home here. Food options are plentiful and generally of good quality. However, you are only permitted to change one dinner for lunch on half board during your stay now. I believe this policy has changed recently, so please be aware of this if reading previous reviews and considering half board. You don't have the option of dining outside on the terrace for your evening meal as you do at breakfast. Not sure why this is, but it would be nice to eat outdoors on warm, summer evenings. The dining hall can get a bit hectic at times, with people congregating around serving stations that aren't very big. It isn't always a very relaxing experience, so my advice is to go b&b and visit the many restaurants just a short stroll away on the main Lassi strip. 

One negative that really needs addressing is the lack of bar staff to serve the amount of people who use the main bar in an evening. Staff are doing their best but are visibly stretched, resulting in many customers having to wait a long time for drinks. This has happened on several occasions during our stay and can be quite frustrating. Drinks are much cheaper in bars elsewhere and you generally get served quicker too.

Would I stay at the Mediterranee again? Yes, possibly, as this is a nice hotel. The wonderful staff, comfortable rooms and great location are the main benefits to staying here, so it certainly shouldn't be overlooked if looking for a decent place to stay in Lassi. But with a few minor tweaks and an upgrade/refurb in places this could be a fantastic hotel, so there's definitely room for improvement. 


Great location and fantastic staff

A very clean and friendly hotel with wonderful views. The downside being people putting towels on sun loungers and disappearing for most of the day, only to return late afternoon sit for a little while then disappear. Sitting on the beach one morning I spotted a couple sunbathing, after we managed to get a lounger by the pool mid afternoon I saw the same couple appear from the beach and move swiftly to pool sunloungers they had left their towels on all day, sit for ten minutes then disappear. A lot of people I talked to felt this inability to get a lounger by the pool or beach took some enjoyment from their holiday. Managment should get on top of it, perhaps making it clear that towels should not be left on unoccupied lounger for more than 1 and a half hours for instance. 

Lovely hotel friendly staff

Fabulous stay at this lovely hotel. The room had an uninterrupted view of the pool and sea. The staff were all amazing, and couldn’t do enough for people. The terrace for breakfast was lovely, very pretty. We generally got down just after 8am to avoid it being too busy. We opted for B&B only, as there are many tavernas up the hill. Location perfect for us, as its easy to get around from Lassi, Argostoli  Harbour (with its turtles) a 2k walk away, (or a bus or cab ride) , with boat trips Luxouri, half an hours ferry ride away, for a nice lunch.  Beaches all around.
The hotel retains some old charm, its still family run I believe.
Not boutiquey, or flashy, which in itself is nice, but for us its location, location, location!
The whole of the island is stunning, so depending on what people want, you can explore by car or a tour.
Would fully recommend!

Overall a good week’s holiday nice hotel, good location, great staff 
One down side is the lack of sun beds due to people reserving them from early morning 6.30
And not using them. It would be better if the hotel manages this if not in use remove the towel.
