We had a brief stay at Pension Gerania and were very pleased by the helpful staff, beautiful surroundings and friendy cat. They were particularly helpful with our late check-in. I would recommend this to anyone considering an affordable trip to Assos.

Great stay and helpful staff

We always stay here when in asos , very clean the view over Mirtos  bay is so fantastic . You are in the heart of asos with a view to die fir from the room . Gary and his wife are perfect hosts and will do anything to help you . Air con ,fridge comfortable   clean beds and rooms . Everything at hand and at a very good price . See you next summer and hope not to much damage in the bad weather . I see asos will recover and be better than ever . Xxxxxxxx

In Asos ,Fabulous greek retreat

We stayed at pension gerania just one night. It is basic, but there is aircon and a fridge which was all we needed for one night! Car park is tricky - steep hills and high steps so we ended up parking in an area designated for somewhere else as we were anxious not to damage our rental car! Short steep walk to the small centre and lovely beach. This room was perfect if you are just stopping or planning to spend most of your time out and about. Beautiful flowers and garden! 

Basic but pleasant

Very good location, a few minutes walk to the village & beach. Host very welcoming. View to harbour is lovely. Efficient (and essential!) AC. The cleaning was excellent, & the cleaner herself was very helpful too. Nice little balcony. Fridge. Bathroom modern (but small). Lovely gardens.
Bed was set up as 2 singles pushed together. 
Internet - couldn't get it to work at all, so we had no means of communication. (Host told us internet problem was all of Assos, but no problem at the tavernas, or indeed at another villa where family was staying.) Other guests said they hadn't managed to get internet for a week.
A tip - don't drink the water, don't even wet your toothbrush with it! Very salty taste - seems to be same all over Assos. Other places we heard of provided some complimentary bottled water. We bought two 5l bottles for our 4 night stay. 
The jug doesn't automatically switch off - we found out the hard (& messy) way!
Assos itself is beautiful- stunning scenery, very friendly people in the shops & tavernas, cost of supplies & dining quite reasonable. 
Overall, nice place, great location. Lack of internet was a pain for us; would probably look elsewhere if we ever went to Assos again.


Great location, but no working internet was a problem 

Friendly welcome from Ritsa with welcome drink. Room spotlessly clean, and balcony at the front of the hotel with lovely view of the bay and the castle on the hill beyond.
There is welcome shade on the balcony in the morning and we got our own breakfast and sat and ate it on the balcony and watched this sleepy little village, slowly and sleepily wake up. I could have sat there all day it was so relaxing.
Assos itself is stunning we only stayed two days but will be back again some day.
If you like snorkelling if you go to the end of the harbour and then swim round the point into the next bay, the fish are the best we saw in Kefalonia, we saw some stunning shoals of big fish, starfish and at last on my own I saw an octopus! :) If you want to see more, you need to go about 7pm when the sun is less hot and the octopus come out to play!

Assos is just wonderful

We spent two nights at Gerania Hotel and were overall happy with the choice. 
Location: about 300 meters from harbor, on hill (slightly steep walk up, if you decide to walk). Restaurants, cafes and supermarkets at harbor.
Checkin/out: very quick, friendly owners who gave us some tips.
Parking: available, free, right next to hotel, just a bit tricky to find the first time you arrive.
Room – very small, especially since there was a third, extra bed that we had not requested inside the room; this meant no space for suitcases and to place things on.  No TV, no chair or table. But there was small cupboard with hangers, a fridge. One socket next to bed, one above fridge (which didn’t look very appealing from outside). 2 coffee cups, 2glasses one plate; water cooker; complimentary coffee/tea sachets; complimentary mosquito repellent. Room clean and was cleaned on both days.
Bathroom: clean; shower curtain, complimentary shower gel.  Sufficient toilet paper is replaced. 
Balcony with table and two chairs, view of the garden – unfortunately, it is not covered, so you are exposed to sun/rain.
Overall: The price was relatively high (60 Euro per night, without breakfast), given for the room quality and that it was off season. Other than that, it is a charming place.

Quite good

Rooms clean tidy. Tea making available in room. View from balcony lovely. One problem was the shower was too small. Sat in garden for reasonable continental breakfast. Price would be better if breakfast included. Hosts were very welcoming.

Nice position

This village is off the beaten path and that makes it extra special. The hotel is on  beautiful property and has a lovely outdoor garden. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Our room was pretty and had a very comfortable bed. This is one town where you need to rent a car and we did just that. Their little parking spots were just steps from the property, which was very convenient since the village doesn't have much space for cars, which I love. I hope to visit again one day.

Pretty and comfortable hotel in beautiful village

We have visited the island several times, but this time we decided to travel around Kefalonia and stay in different places and areas for a minimum of 2 nights.  This was our first stop.

Rita (I think that's her name) was very welcoming and there is nothing like a warm open smile to greet you.

The room was small, but all that we needed for our 2 nights.  The view was stunning.

The bathroom was compact and my 6.2" husband found the shower a little small.  The shower curtain was a challenge to keep off from sticking to areas!

The gardens are very pretty and lovely to walk through on your way down the centre of ASSOS which is an easy 3 min walk.

I would recommend this place for couples that like the real and unspoiled Greece.
