Asos is a beautiful place and so can get a bit overcrowded during the day.  ROI Boutique hotel is just a few hundred metres out of the town so preserves the quite relaxed feel, whilst maintaining the gorgeous sea and sunset views and being close to town for dinner.

We stayed 4 lovely nights in the Iris room which had a comfy bed, functional bathroom and small kitchen area with fridge to cool your wine.  The view from the room was wonderful and we enjoyed sitting and staring at the ocean.

The pool and breakfast area are both relaxed spaces where like minded guests exchange stories and recommendations.  Parking is available next to the hotel (5 spaces i recall) and over the road if that’s full.

The owners and staff are lovely people and will do anything to make your stay a good one.

Highly recommend this hotel if you want to stay in a lovely village but retain a peaceful and relaxed vibe.  We loved it and i’m sure we will be back.

A very special place

We arrived at Roi Suites expecting a peaceful 10 night stay overlooking Assos. We were shown to rooms which were really disappointing, other than the view  from one of them (the other had a low level terrace with no view, which was a real let down). The suites are really dingy, with very basic outdated bathrooms which just don’t feel clean. Fittings are worn and grubby, the whole room needed refurbishment. Balconies are also very overlooked, there is no privacy at all and everyone is woken by the music played every morning from 8.30am.
On the bright side, the pool area was as pictured, quite small but with 8 good sunbeds and a fabulous view. Our first 2 days were spent relaxing there and it was good - be aware that you do need to walk to the shop for water etc though, nothing at all is available at the property.
Breakfast was fine for a few days but then repetitive - the poached eggs are the only cooked option but are served cold, and one morning I was told by the consistently miserable woman on duty at breakfast that there was no fresh milk for my muesli and handed a coffee creamer!
Importantly though, if you have booked because the suites are advertised as adults only then please be aware that they definitely are not. The owner’s family and friends arrived half way through our stay, and when I emailed the owner to check/ confirm the adults only status she advertised I was immediately singled out by the pool and shouted at in front of the family and (very lovely) small child who had taken over the very limited pool area. I was horrified, I’ve never felt so humiliated and the rest of our stay was ruined just because I asked very politely about the adults only policy advertised everywhere. I’m sure lots of couples like us book adults only so they can read and relax in relative quiet, so to allow your own family to bring a toddler and then noisily take over the small pool space is just unfair to guests.
Overall I would say Roi Suites are fine for one or two nights, but too small, too close together and a little depressing for a longer stay. Beware the owner, who saw nothing wrong in publicly shouting at her guests - the most unprofessional host I’ve ever encountered.

NOT adults only, shabby rooms, but good views 

BEAUTIFUL! Room (Myrtle), pool, flowers, views, sunset, location and hostess Maria. 

The suite was very clean and absolutely charming, with a comfy bed, seating area, beautiful window view of the pool/sea, excellent shower and aircon, and handy kitchen area, including a fridge, kettle and even a sandwich toaster. 
Beautiful terrace to enjoy the sunset with a glass of wine.

Breakfast was deliciously fresh and healthy! I lovely choice of continental, fruit, muesli, yoghurt, cooked eggs, toast (great bread), fresh coffee etc., all served in the beautiful pool terrace area with views!

The hotel is a short walk from Asos and a few tavernas, but if you don’t want to walk into the village or fancy something Mexican for a change, the 3 Wise Monkeys over the road do amazing tacos and burgers.

We only stayed 3 nights but would happily stay longer. A beautiful drive in/out with stunning views!!

Asos is beautiful! You will need a car if staying a while (plenty of parking adjacent to hotel and  opposite). We preferred the beaches around Fiscardo (and nearby Myrtos) for snorkelling.

All round beautiful hotel

We were so happy to have chosen lovely Roi Suites for our visit to Kefalonia.
Everything about it is wonderful; the amazing view from all rooms, the flowers everywhere...will never forget those bougainvilleas, the lovely building itself, the large, comfortable rooms, the warmth and hospitality of Maria, the owner, and the couple that helps her, the pool, the location.
Yes, Assos must be one of the most picturesque villages in Greece.
We (2 couples), were there during the Covid 19 measures so there was no breakfast by the pool. The fridge and kitchen draws were stocked with all breakfast food items.
Unfortunately, we were also there during the hurricane that passed over Kefalonia and brought damage and havoc to this beautiful village. We were heartbroken to see the result of it's passing when we were able to venture out after 2 days inside the rooms.
BUT, the resilience of the Greeks and of all humans is always awe inspiring. When we returnd to Assos 3 weeks later, almost all debris had been cleared. We pray that all will be back to normal next summer and we wholeheartedly recommend Roi Apartments to all of you looking for a place to stay in Kefalonia.

SOOOooo beautiful!!

As soon as travel to Greece from the UK was cleared we booked within the hour to return to Assos and to Roi Suites. Our experiences 2 years ago gave us every confidence that COVID-19 risks would be low and certainly manageable, and indeed they were. Maria and her team have implemented (and enforce!) appropriate measures for the safety of their guests that really do not have a negative impact at all. We missed the buffet breakfast  on the terrace, but the in-room suite's fridge and cupboards were stocked with a wide range of local and international products that meant we made our own tasty breakfasts to eat on our private terrace.

We had the same room as before (Myrtle) which we were really pleased about, as it is very private. The view from the terrace and front window out to the pool and the sea beyond is a view that we could never tire of. The colours of nature blended with the colours and textures of the buildings and flowers bring such peace and serenity...

Our full week there was once again simply perfect. Social distancing from other guests is easy due to the amount of open public space, including new lower level seating areas in the garden area along with a yoga terrace.

The unparalleled location, warmest hospitality, personal touches, comfort and safety that Roi Suites provides makes this our favourite place in all of Greece. We are so fortunate and grateful for the experience, and plan on returning as soon as possible.

Now more than ever, the perfect sanctuary

Roi has 7 small appartments situated round the pool. All rooms have A-C. The poolterrace oversees the Ionionsea and offers beautiful views. Next to the pool is the area where in the morning breakfast is served and where you can sit in the shadows. The appartments are small but fine, all with terrace or balcony. It takes a 5 minute walk to downtown Assos, a very small town situated at the Assosbay with a view at the old castle up the Hill. There are a view restaurants (4), all with their OWN charistics. Platanos, eating outsider in what seems a touristic atmosphere but the food is good. The Sea side bar is perfect for breakfast and lunch and after diner drinks. At the and of the bay a fishrestaurant. Proces for diner at all places are oké, between 30-60€ for two persons including wine.

Stunning views in a great atmosphere

This was our first time in Kefalonia.   We booked into the Roi apartments on spec and my goodness, we were so glad that we did.  This is a boutique complex with a small number of delightful apartments.  The whole, modest complex is chic and attractive with the most spectacular views - the sunrises and sunsets are particularly not to be missed.  We had everything that we needed here.  The staff were very attentive and cleaned constantly!   Maria, the owner, leaves nothing to chance and her calm and informative demeanour was a major help to us as newcomers to the island.  The breakfast was something to look forward to daily.  It was excellent and it seemed to us that it had something to suit every taste.  This was particularly so given the small numbers catered for.   Personally, the Greek yogurt, with muesli, honey and fresh fruit was everything that I could have dreamt of and the coffee was excellent. Following breakfast, a short walk down the slope into Assos (just 300 metres) was a welcome daily occurrence before returning for a relax by the delightful and spotless pool.  There was nothing that we could fault here.

Absolutely brilliant!

Roi Apartments is a superb location to stay at Kefalonia. Great facilities, excellent hospitality, fantastic views and a perfect spot close to the charming village of Assos. Thanks to Maria, Christel and I enjoyed every day of our stay.

Roi apartments is a fantastic hotel with everything you can ask for! 
1. The rooms are clean and spacious with air condition and refridgerators. 
2. Every room has a balcony with amazing views, perfect for a romantic glass of wine during the sunset
3. The breakfast is very good! And the coffee is amazing (for black coffee drinkers)
4. The hotel is quiet and relaxed with a nice pool. 
5. Spacious parking 
6. Great location with just a short walk (3 min) to Assos 
7. The owners are very friendly and helpful

Stay here!!

Roi offers clean and comfortabel apartments. There is quite some difference from apartment to department when it comes to the size and location of the private balconies/terraces. Our 2 room apartment was spacious but the balconies virtually useless. The common room around the pool more than makes up for this as it is spacious and tastefully decorated. There are comfortable beds around the pool and plenty of corners to sit either in the sun or the shade. Pool towels are provided and the area is well kept. The small scale gives it a bit intimate atmosphere. It is somewhat of a comfortable oasis. Bed quality is good and airco guarantees cool nights. Also pleasant was a decent shower which is rare in Greece. So overall for Greek standards an exceptional quality.
