Isolated location, very quiet and perfect for visiting the archaeological site of Philippi, which is located a few hundred meters away. Clean, comfortable room, with balcony, TV and A/C functioning. Simple breakfast of discrete quality included in the price. Negative aspects: old furniture, look a little decadent, weak Wi-Fi signal in the room.

Friendly staff but otherwise a depressing, dark and musty place.  Central heating not working and room smelled of cigarettes.  Bathroom is Soviet style with no shower curtain but water was not hot so no need to manage.  The hotel was quiet and bed was okay albeit chilly. TV works in lobby area. Wifi is very slow and sketchy.  The restaurant is closed. They only accept cash for room payment and they claim to have no change so you need to bring exact change.  No receipt given which I guess allows them to avoid paying tax.  This place is marginal at best but again, appreciate the pleasant staff. 

Roof and bed, nothing else

If you want a typical greek hotel family owned and run, then hotel Lydia is your place, Rooms are a little bit all fashioned but clean. The hotel is situated in a very calm area, although quite close from the Philippi archéological site. Breakfast Buffet is very decent. Owner is quite helpful and friendly. wifi does not work in all Rooms but perfectly well in lobby or restaurant areas. At the time of our stay, the taverna associated with the hotel was not operating for lunch or diner but for breakfast only.

A cosy hôtel near by Philippi

The hotel is located in very suitable location if you want to visit the sites of the area (ancient Filippi, baptistery and Kavala).It is not a luxurious hotel and the bathroom could've some renovation but it was decent. The room was clean, wifi was good and breakfast had a small buffet. The owners were very helpful. Extra points earned for the swan that moves around and asks for food.

 Convenient location and friendly owners 

The place itself is not so bad if you want to stay in a quiet place outside if Kavala. Rooms with 3 bed is 70 euro with breakfast. But the rooms are very old and not so clean. Especially the bathroom wasn't very hygienic. The garden is nice and fun for children. Wifi almost doesn't work.

Cute but dirty

Restaurant "Lydia" is a part from one hotel complex situated in town of Lydia next to the famous Baptistery of the Saint Lydia of Thyatira - the first christian baptized in Europe from the Saint Paul. It is very comfortable restaurant with wide garden, which proposes typical Greek cuisine including different tasteful dishes but constantly accompanied with fresh Greek-salad, qualified Greek ouzo and fresh fruits accordingly with the season. The prices are fully acceptable and the attitude of the staff is very gentle. The place is very convenient too if your residence is in Kavala and you would like to make a half-day trip to the Ancient Filippi and Lydia.
