Amazing place, and great location.

Staff - very attentive and professional, some reviews state staff being rude, absolutely the opposite. We have been stopped and asked if we are having a great break, so thoughtful. My aperol (best in the region I have had) , food was amazing (and reasonably cheap) and the service as a whole is outstanding. Always fresh fruit in the morning. 

The hotel has been recently renovated and all areas are air-conditioned and spotless clean. Reception and breakfast area are well lit and comfortable.

Rooms are exquisite, the mattresses are super comfy (so tough to get up in the morning), the bathroom was all marble and super clean, very cool too. The sea view is a bonus too.

The bar at the beach is welcoming and the tables around are very cosy, hidden under olive trees. Lastly, thank you Iliana, Alex and all for the 5 great nights we had  in Kavala area. 


We arrived late after a long drive stuck in traffic, we contacted the hotel prior to our arrival. I spoke with a lady who spoke multiple languages. She was very friendly and helpful. She reassured us that there would be no problem and our key would be waiting for us.
We only stayed two nights but would have love to stay longer. 
The hotel is located on the beach, it’s very very clean and  the decor is excellent.
The photographs on the web site don’t do it any justice. (Better than pictures)
The breakfast needs a bit of TLC (we had to ask for more things to be replaced) but was good enough.
The hotel has a garden and private beach which is maintained to a high standards. The sea is beautiful and warm.
The staff were very friendly and helpful however if you compare them to other countries they are quite laid back but still exceptional. 
As someone mentioned, the hotel had number of stairs however there is only three floors and they are not hard to climb.
I am hoping to come back to this wonderful hotel in the near future.


If you want to have a sea holiday you should definitely choose here.  I slept with the sound of a wave at nights and woke up to the turquoise sea every morning.  The hotel is near the sea.  the beach is not very crowded and noisy.  The hotel has a comfortable sunbedarea in the garden side. restaurant was successful. Definately recommend!

We came to Kavala for a friend's wedding, but wanted to stay by the beach and thought Kavala itself too built up and busy.

We spotted Hotel Akti on trip advisor and thought it looked too good to be true - but it was even better than pictures and reviews say. 

It is right on the beach, with balcony looking out across the sea - a breath taking view. In front is the gorgeous beach with loungers which are free when you stay at the hotel (they just ask you buy a drink from the business that operates the loungers and beach bar, which we were only too happy to do!). The room itself is an apartment with separate kitchen space and private shower & toilet. The bedroom has sliding door out to balcony, which has table and chairs and umbrella for dining. The whole property is absolutely spotless and very well looked after. Air conditioned which was wonderful after the heat of the day. Although it does not have stars I would rate it 3-4 stars on location, facilities, comfort and the cleanliness and obvious care and attention paid by staff/owners.

Despite Booking.com saying it was full I thought I'd contact the hotel direct to see if there were any dates free. Theo the owner and his wife were absolutely wonderful - we have never been made so welcome or had such a friendly, courteous and personal service from a hotel. They arranged our reservation to the odd dates we wanted, personally taxied us to and from the airport (for a very reasonable charge) and ensured we had everything we could possibly want for a wonderful holiday.

Can not praise this hotel and the staff enough. We will definitely return here next time we come to north of Greece. Many thanks Theo for a lovely holiday.

Hotel Akti was a wonderful place to stay. The owner's hospitality makes you feel completely at home. A nice, quiet place to enjoy the beach, but not far from Kavala for when you want the historical sites and shopping of the city. The fully equipped kitchen makes both short and long stays comfortable, and the in-room information packet provided help with everything from Greek phrases to vacation planning to finding local food to understanding a little of the historical background of the area. I would love to go back and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the Kavala area.  Because it is a few kilometers from the crowds of Kavala there aren't any ATMs. Have cash on hand and you won't have any problems.

Hotel Akti  is perfectly situated right at the very beautiful gold sanden beach of PalaioTsifliki. No need to cross any streets, the beach is directly accessible from hotel.The beach bar is great. 
We can certainly recommend any room from the hotel because all haves beautiful view to sea ,very clean room, new shower and bathroom.It has everything you need.The kitchen was fully equiped and very clean .
The owner and the staff are very frendly,wait for as with great hospitality.
For as it was a great vacation.

We stayed at Hotel Akti in July 2019.  We were not informed of the amount of stairs!!  Unfortunately we were in a room in the 3rd floor, with no help to take cases / luggage to your room, in fact when a member of staff did try to help with our cases, he was swiftly told by the lady on reception, not to!!!  Disappointing overall really.  Yes, nice views from your room but quite a few things not right.  For example, the patio doors did not fit correctly which meant they were unable to close; you are only allocated one toilet roll at a time and have to ask for more; there is no waste bin in your room; there only seems to be limited bowls at breakfast so always had to ask for a bowl and some days the staff struggled to source a bowl!!!  No fresh fruit at breakfast, very limited choice.

The hotel obviously aint special as it doesn't have a lot of stars and the staff are abit tight .the beds are uncomfortable and it wasn't even a double bed the staff just put a foam thing in the middle to connect the beds which made it less comfortable, and it felt terrible coz i couldn't even enjoy sleeping next to my partner very uncomfortable. There is a kitchenette tho and an amazing view of the beach and the beautiful church. however the beach bar downstairs is not so good as you cant really swim in the beach there are big rocks its got sea weed and its unleveled. there is not much food around or things to do unless you drive 5-10 mins to the best beach bars of amolofoi nea peramo. which is what we did . . the breakfast not far from the hotel is shocking aswell as the coffee tho there is an amazing restaurant near there. The best thing was the view have a look at the photos

These comments refer to the hotel’s beach bar only.

The service of the hotel’s beach bar is going worse every year. If you order fresh juice, make sure you stay at the bar and supervise when it is prepared, because they top up the fresh with juice from pack, that has nothing to do with fresh  (eye witnessed by coincidence).

The “waitress” is asking to pay the order upfront. Do not do it, as if you do, you may receive the order 30-60 minutes after it.

The sand is dirty, even the free beach is cleaner

Still, it is good sides:
- Teo, the waiter is a very warm and welcoming, kind with children.
- it is also good that the facilities like showers, WC and changing room exist.


Beach bar service is ... challenging

We've ordered fish. It was written in the menu to ask for the fish of the day. It was tsipoura. We've ordered one portion.
When the bill came, the waiter told us we have to pay 55 euros, without showing any bill. 
"Do you want the bill?"
"Yes, of course"
Then he brought the bill which stated the fish, event if it was at maximum half of a normal fish, costs 25 euros. 
This is a restaurant where you pay 25 euros for a half of a fish and you wait for it around 1 hour and something.
I saw almost everyone avoids the restaurant. It had one one table occupied at the lunch time, while the other tavernas were full.
Avoid this hotel's restaurant!
