Konstantinoupolis Hotel

This hotel is located in the Old Port section of Corfu town. The hotel overlooks a bay and a marina. It is a charming older hotel with an elevator straight out of an Agatha Christie novel. The reception office is on the second floor. The staff is very friendly and helpful and someone is there 24/7. My bedroom on the 2nd floor was small, but had a beautiful view of the bay and the New Fort on the hill. The room was a little dated. The room has it's own heater and AC unit. The carpet was a bit worn and the bed could use a new comforter. There was a small mini fridge. The bathroom was rennovated and updated. Security might be an issue for some. The room locks and unlocks using an old key. I had to lock myself in at night using the key and then using a chain lock for an additional safety feature. No bolt locks. I left the key in the lock at night in case there was a fire. The hotel does not lock their doors at night so that might be an issue for some. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel because of it's old world charm and the location. It was an easy walk to the parks, the Old Fort, and the Museums. There are several restaurants nearby. There is a taxi stand right in front of the hotel which was very convenient. A taxi to the airport was €15I would recommend this hotel to travelers who are looking for a step back in time and a reasonable rate. And of course that Old World Charm that reminds me of travel in a slower and different era.
