Boutique Villa Petra Eleni

Villa Petra Eleni was a fantastic experience. Slightly off ff the beaten track in a very private setting, it's perfect to get away from it all. There is a shady pergola over a little veranda where you can sit all day, enjoying your drinks, looking out over the surrounding hills and mountains. The pool is very clean and a good size. If you fancy a swim in the sea, a convenient beach is only 15 minutes drive away. If you buy some drinks and maybe lunch in the taverna on the beach, you can occupy sunbeds and umbrellas all day without extra charge. Shopping can be done in the little market town of Vrisses (super markets, green grocer, bakery, post office, pharmacy etc.) The villa is 5-10 minutes walk away from the village of Maza, which has a rustic and very authentically Cretan taverna, which we much frequented. Fancier restaurants are within easy driving distance in Rethimnon and Chania. The villa was spacious. The two bigger bedrooms and the kitchen/living area had airconditioning. Towels and bed sheets were changed and bathrooms serviced twice a week by a local lady. The landlord is very kind and couldn't do enough for us. He personally assisted us with booking at popular restaurants and covid tests before the end of the holiay. He also gave us plenty of valuable tips for day trips and immediately responded to any concerns we had. We felt very well looked after. As a little tip, make sure you bring plenty of insect repellent to apply when sitting outdoors, especially first thing in the morning or early evening onwards. Being prepared on that front will make sitting under the beautiful pergola even more enjoyable.
