Stunning views, such a warm welcome and great home cooked food

A group of bungalows high on the side of a mountain with sensational views.  Road access is good - sealed and wide.  Excellent kitchen but if you want to self-cater stock up before you come because the local shops are 20mins away and limited.  Alternatively, Eleni will provide excellent home-cooked meals using produce from the farm for only €15(+) pp.  Recently constructed so well-insualted and everything works.

What an absolute stunning place this is and in such a beautiful location, the scenery is breathtaking, the Greeting we received from Elena was very welcoming and she made us feel very comfortable straight away, our cottage was very well equipped and a lovely place to relax, We have never been to such a peaceful place, the shared pool is very good and looks over the mountains, if you don’t feel like cooking then elena will provide you with a delicious meal and come with an amazing Greek salad, there’s a small town a short distance away to provide you with your essentials.I would certainly recommend this place to anyone and we will most definitely be going back. A complete get away but in reach of the complete opposite. The trip up the mountain is always exciting, the view is sensational. The apartment has everything you need.

Up high with the eagles, amazing view all the way to the city. Fresh mountain water pool, wild mountain herbs and herds of goats passing by. The apartment has everything you need, the owners really care. With a car you can travel where you want to and coming ‘home’ is always a treat. 

We experienced the absolute calmness of the Cretan mountains in a traditional villa. Traditional breakfast and meals prepared by the owners and served in a very friendly manner.

If you want to stay somewhere with absolutely stunning views, GENUINE peace and quiet - and truly awesome home cooked rustic food, then this is your place. It’s an interesting yet painless drive up the mountain - but feels very far enough away from the touristic madness of the city. 

This hidden away handful of studio villas is pretty much at the top of a mountain. It overlooks the vineyards and olive groves, the valleys and hills way above and around the surrounding area of Heraklion.

Owned by the absolutely lovely Eleni and her husband, this place is well worth a stay.

It’s self catering, but why would you bother when Eleni delivers traditional home-made mountain food right to your door with a big smile on her face and a welcoming “yassas!”?! 

I’d write more, but we’re off on our travels to another hidden gem in Vamos...

Beautiful cottage, exceptional views, very gracious hosts.Cottage was supplied with everything you might need. Food was great. Would definitely stay again.

We only spent one night here but loved the setting and the ownership of this off the beaten place.   We had dinner and breakfast and were served way more then we could eat of great food.  The view is like being in an airplane.  The nearby town has almost no tourism so it is hard to find places to eat there.  It was windy when we were there, no fault of the ownership.

What an experience!So so beautiful and special way up high with the Eagles and you do see them. Eleni the owner is so bubbly and a joy to be around. She brought our dinner to our room the first night for a very reasonless price and it was delicious Definitely will go back, amazing!

Great Stay

Beautiful little residence in the hills just beyond Heraklion. Each house stands alone so privacy is assured. Main road was also recently repaved making it very comfortable. Very quiet in the evening and the view is a spectacle, perfect for an evening drink or having morning coffee by the pool. Great to relax away from the usual turist paths. WiFi works very well and the owners aim to please to make you as comfortable as possible.
It is away from everything, so you need to drive everywhere you want to go. The town of Kroussonas does not offer much. No AC or even a fan in the rooms so it can get very hot during the days and even some nights. The bed was uncomfortable. Satellite TV but only a few channels available.

Beautiful hillside residence.

This is a lovely place to stay if you want to get away from the commercialised areas of Heraklion. Very peaceful, wonderful welcoming owner, well designed accommodation and about 1/2 hour drive to Heraklion airport. The six chalets are built on the mountainside farm belonging to the owners and provide great views to the sea down below.The local village is completely unspoilt, you will have a chance to practise your greek.
