We had an amazing stay at Ampellos. It was very clean and nice, and Theo gave us excellent service. The hotel is near Chara center with great connections to beachen around the island. Where you can travel by bus or hike. Will come back next year!!

Perfect stay

Great location so close to Chora. Theo and his wife are amazing hosts, so friendly and accommodating. 
Room was clean and spacious. Pool area is lovely with great views. Highly recommended. We were able to walk to dinner every night and the bus stop is very close to travel to the other end of the island.  Folegandros has many options for great hikes.

Amazing friendly hosts

Our stay at Ampelos was perfect. It is easy to spend the day relaxing by the pool or to catch the local bus to a nearby beach. Dinner is just a 10 minute walk down the hill into the chora where you have your choice of many excellent restaurants. Theo will recommend his favorites and you won't be disappointed. The hotel rooms are great but it is really Theo's hospitality that makes Ampelos a perfect stay. 


Absolutely perfect

Due to a schedule issue, we were not able to actually stay at the Ampelos.  However, I was very impressed with the helpfulness and understanding of the owner when we had to change our plans and am sorry it did not work out for us to stay there.

Helpful, pleasant owner

We have enjoyed 4 utterly magical days at Ampelos. It is an absolutely beautiful hotel consisting of a few well appointed rooms, each individually painted in pastel shades around a lovely pool. Theo describes their intent of creating the feel of a small village and they have achieved just that - it is tranquil, calm, soothing and feels like your Greek home. Theo and Areti are kind, warm, funny and generous. 

The hotel is incredibly good value - Theo picks you up from, and drops you off at the port too! From Ampelos you can walk easily into the beautiful Chora with its wonderful squares, enchanting alleyways and many tavernas. The church on the hill is a must for sunset and if you are feeling more ambitious as we were, there are amazing well marked walks from your doorstep or by taking the bus to Ano Meria.

I’d never heard of Folegrandos until this year - put it on your bucket list and stay at Ampelos, you won’t regret it. There’s a few days left this season, if you can’t squeeze it in get booking for 2023.

Don’t miss the magic of Ampelos!

It is situated in a location 200 m. from Chora (perhaps the most picturesque Chora in Cycladrd) with excellent service very warm owners who give their best to serve their clients: Thodoris and Areti are magnificent. Very clean rooms with view over the blue of the Aegean Sea and to the characteristic Church of Panagia (over the ancient temples of Apollo and Artemis). The hotel is very near the two beaches of Karavostasis (3 km) and Agkali (3 km) and there is very dense bus service towards these beaches. The breakfast is full of Aegean tastes, fresh and delicious and in great quantities. A thousand bravos to Thodoris and Areti.

We spent 3 days in Ampelos for the 2nd time and loved both stays : excellent location, quiet but only a 10' walk from Chora, breathtaking views, lovely rooms with a small terrace, beautiful pool, good breakfasts, welcoming owners ...for us it's definitely the best place to stay in Folegandros.

Perfect stay in a calm and charming place

Ampelos is just the perfect place to enjoy the magic of Folegandros - and one of the nicest and soulful family run resorts I’ve ever visited. Lovely rooms, one different from the other, placed around a beautiful garden with infinity pool and stunning view on the Chora. Breathtaking sunsets and good vibes guaranteed. I just wish I could have stayed longer.

Magic place in a magic island

Very welcoming and friendly couple who runs the hotel. Incredible hospitality. Ideal quiet location - steps away from Chora center.  Loved having my morning coffee on a terrace and watching sunset in the evenings. Absolutely recommended.

Wonderful stay

This resort is with no exception the best on the island. The view is incredible, the atmosphere is so welcoming and authentic and the owners are real life Angels who do their absolute best to make your stay unforgettable. 
The WiFi is great, the breakfast is amazing and because it’s 5 min walk out of the main city you get the best of both worlds - the quietness at Ampelos and the vibrating life from the city only 5 min away. 
I recommend this place with all my heart! 5 out of 5!
