Nimar Villaggio Superb value for money!! Tried to rebook again 2023 but fully booked. Immaculately clean, small pool, really friendly staff. Not a 5 star hotel but that's not what it purports to be! Showers could be updated as I hate shower curtains ha ha! Although we personally do not like quiz nights or bug sport TVs, it is there for those who do! Friendly bar area and great great great staff! Very close to busy North South ( East Coast) road but noise is not excessive and see the plus points..good cheap, clean regular buses take you up and down the coast. Pedestrian crossings 100 and 150mt away in either direction to walk to the wild unspoilt beach. This is not Faliraki and is not a resort as such....Afantou (real not resort) village is a taxi ride or 25 minute walk . The clue is in the name which means hidden....so it is on the hillside hidden from the sea (and historical plunderers! The 4km (?) long beach is clean and has very clean basic toilets, a beach snack bar, ample free parking. The beach us vast and uncrowded with beautiful pebbly stones (beach shoes make life easy( and, depending where you are...gently or steep shelves..easy to ascertain as water immaculate. Loungers x 2 with parasol and small table 10-12 Euro per day and showers. For more beach life than the central beach walk East along road/beach and there are a few cocktail bars, more permanent structure bar and food, toilets and wide new roads with ample parking. More hotels etc and a couple of excellent fish Restaurants, boat hire etc. The little train from Afantou comes down this way from the village via the hotels etc and then runs along the beach road to the Golf Club end. Cost is 2 €uro per ride hopping on and off but €2 each time
