Really nice place in Loutro. Everythng clean, beds good and bathroom renovated. To have the best view you gonna need one of the rooms in top-floor. Roof-terrace was amazing!  Staff really friendly and smiling

Very nice hotel, recently renovated with beautiful colors around the walls. Friendly and helpful staff. We went there with our five months old baby, we asked for a baby cot and we had it the same day. The room was very clean and we had fresh towels day by day. Maybe the mattresses should be replaced by new ones, were a little bit hard. We enjoyed our stay and probably we will visit it again if we find available room!!!

Not only Loutro is worth visiting but Protopapas rooms will provide you with a clean little room, nicely located.
In 1 min you reach one of the best tavernas of the village. Friendly staff and we loved our little balcony

A newly made hotel with modern rooms at a wonderful place! This hotel is located at a quiet place in the beautiful Loutro. The owner is very friendly and the prices are very logical. I highly recommend it!

Extremely clean and tidy room! We were three friends and stayed for two nights and the cleaning lady came twice to clean the room! The hotel service was great and the people always offered their help! The location was very good and our room had a great sea view!! Generally the room was really cool but the air conditioning added freshness in the room providing us a perfect sleep! Very strong wifi also!! 

This is our go to hotel in Loutro it’s not on the main front but you get an amazing view of tte bay from the roof terrace 
If your on a budget this is the place for you clean, fridge, tv, Wi-Fi, breakfast available €5 lovely staff and always helpful 
I’ve stayed in four other hotels but you can’t beat Protopapas for value

We stayed here two nights, at the end of a walking tour. The hotel is newly renovated, basic but comfortable. Our room was pleasant, with a small balcony. The proprietor was friendly and helpful. The hotel does serve a simple breakfast on the outdoor patio but no other meals. Wifi was good. 

The real advantage of the hotel, though, is its location. It is literally two minutes walk to the harbourside restaurants and one of Loutro's main beaches.

Great hotel with amazing rooms!

Arrived hot and exhausted after all the stairs, to be "greeted" by male receptionist who was too busy chatting on phone to assist us in any real way. Barely cracked a smile while shoving a key at us and saying room number. We were left to find the room alone - navigating more flights of stairs. One of our party was 71 and some assistance would have been appreciated. 
Asked about safe and were told to collect a key. No one mentioned I then had to insert batteries and programme it from scratch. 
Checking out was done without a smile, enquiry as to whether we had enjoyed our stay, or a thank you.
36 years in Greece and never have we experienced such inhospitality.

Unfriendly, unhelpful "hosts"

We stayed at the apartments whilst walking for 2 days on the south coast of Crete.
Nicely decorated room and tiled bathroom.
The things that need improving:-
1.  Although there was a kettle and two cups there wasn't any tea or coffee in the room
2.  No toiletries in the bathroom
3.  It was a hand held shower which isn't very easy especially with low water pressure
4.  Barely enough hot water for two showers
5.  Although there was WiFi there wasn't enough signal strength to pick WiFi up in the bedrooms
6.  Although there was tb in the bedroom the signal strength was weak and wouldn't pick up any channels
7. We had confusion over payment for the three rooms with the owner who tried to charge different for one of the rooms than booking.com stated
8.  Their card machine wasn't working so they wanted cash payments and didn't provide receipts

Overnight stay

I think we had the best terrace and view available! The room was small but comfortable and clean. The forniture and the(small) bathroom were new!

The host was available but an "extra" smile would have been appreciated! 

Last but not least, when i payed they "forgot" to give me the receipt, and after my request they added 0.50 Euro for the Fee! In my opinion "a gaffe" for nothing!
