The positive aspects of living in this hostel include its cheapness and close geography in respect to both the Syntagma and the Acropolis with Monastiraki. Both places can be reached on foot in 15-20 minutes, if you go from Omonia square - to Syntagma by Odos Stadiou, or to the Acropolis by Odos Athinou.
This is the only advantages of the hostel. The rest - only its shortcomings. Starting with the non-detectable smell and ending with the poor condition of the rooms and common areas.

Cheap and close, but bad

Walking distance from one of the world's top museums of archaeology. OK for price. Everything very worn and seedy, but reasonably clean. No bugs. Area very louche, possibly even scary at night for the nervous type. Wi-fi worked fine.

Backpackers only

This is a place that I found on Booking.com as I was looking for a cheap room as a single woman traveller - I found a great deal and booked 3 nights, paying online. I paid around £13 a night for a double room. When I arrived, the reception area reminded me of an old pensioner's home that had been inhabited for 50 years with a dirty, smoky smell and old, sticky, dirty furniture with dim lighting. Gross. The owner greeted me, a strange older Greek man in a wig and hip-hop clothing (I kid you not) who showed me the filthy kitchen with old dishes and food in the sink, the tiny bathrooms and the dingy toilets. He showed me to my double room which, compared to the rest of the place, was clean, bright and airy with clean tiles on the floor and a cute balcony. He soon did a 'bait and switch' moments after I arrived and told me that he'd given me that room as a favour to me, that it's more expensive than what I'd paid for online, and that if I was staying I should keep that room and pay around £17 a night, directly to him (!). When I checked online, all the double rooms at the price I had paid seemed to have been REMOVED for the next month, and only the more expensive room was available. From there, I already knew I wasn't staying, and quickly found something else for my check-out date. As an aside, I spoke to a number of Somalians  in the kitchen who seemed to be living there and who later admitted that they are REFUGEES. So this is not so much a hotel or hostel, it's more a refugee camp, and with that come some serious risks if you are a woman. I would avoid this place at all costs.

A Dump - Stay Away

Do not stay here. Especially if you are a group of women travelling. 
Dirty, horrible, unsafe rooms are just the start. The weird owner man, who seems to have a body guard, will not be able to find your booking and will ask you to come for a walk with him to another hostel - then will lead you through the most horrendous parts of the red light/Omonia district. Do not go with him or even book here. 

Even our taxi driver pleaded with us to not go to this place - we wish we listened! I’ve travelled to some unsafe places in South America and this doesn’t compare.

I don't like to give bad reviews but.....
This has to be the worst hostel I ever have been too.
When Me and my friend arrived at the Hostel and walked into Reception there were people smoking and it smelt damp and horrible. The Taxi driver who dropped us off at the hostel said that the area was not very nice and to be careful at night times because of crime. The hostel employee showed us to our rooms and the Rooms were not that much better than the Reception area. The Rooms smelt of smoke and a damp smell. The bed sheets were not washed and I saw some hairs on the Sheets. The lighting in the rooms and in the communal hallway was quite dark and hard to see.Lastly the Hostel employee was a bit rude and not very welcoming.
