Sunday Hotel

We chose this hotel as a result of many useful tips given to us on the TA forum about our first visit to the Greek islands . We are so grateful for the advice. The hotel is on the opposite side of the small harbour from where the ferry boats dock and with a sea view balcony there is plenty to watch as boats come and go. It’s useful that the balcony for our room was on the lee side of the hotel so that we were protected from the persistent strong winds that are common in this region. Our room was compact but had adequate space with twin beds (that we pushed together to make a double), bedside tables with lamps, a small dressing table unit, a wardrobe and a fridge. The bathroom had an adequate shower with decent hot water pressure. Breakfast was included in our deal and was served in the semi-outside restaurant area overlooking the harbour. The restaurant, whichever had tables outside by the water edge as well as undercover, protected from the wind, served food all day and was popular at lunch and dinner times. There is comfortable seating where we could sit, relax, read and have coffee or a drink. All staff we met were friendly and helpful. When ferries were cancelled due to the weather we were able to stay one extra night without problem. The boss provided a transfer to and from the ferry. Car rental places are nearby and a ticket bureau by the port will provide information and tickets for all ferries in the region as well as bus timetables for the island as well as for Paros (10minutes away by car ferry). In fact we took our rental car over there for one day to explore that island as well. There are numerous restaurants in the town within a very short walking distance. We'd love to have the opportunity to stay there again - one of our favourite places in the 3 weeks tour of four islands.
