Miramare

I would so much like to thank the couple running Miramare. We have had a great time and could not wish for more. Rooms are clean, well equipped and cool in the Lesvos summer. Our room has air condition, but we have never asked for it to be started as we managed well whitout. At ground floor we have a little terrace where the evening sun can be enjoyed. Strings outside our door for drying wet bath suits and chairs to sit down. The area is quiet, some two hundred meters from shops and restaurants. If you want, you can step right over the road and into the mediterranian sea, if you have bathing shoes or you don't mind the rocks. Hotel has a wonderful garden and in this garden the breakfast is served. We ordered breakfast from home and this worked very well. About breakfast: the owners do what ever can be done to give your day a quiet, relaxing, nutrituous and tasteful start. Table were set for three when we got up and into the garden. A whole can of good coffee, own choice of tea, orange juice, bread, butter and jam every day. In addition we had either scrambled eggs or omelet, toast with ham cheese (or no ham for us vegetarians) and one bowl each with delicious, greek yoghurt, nectarines and bananas or other fruits. The hosts are kind and welcoming. We really appreciate the atmosphere. The local hens and their male can be bit of a challenge as the male seems to be communicating with other of his like. We found this a bit disturbing the first morning, and then we got used to him. Some noise from the nearby main road, but we very soon came to terms with it. Hotel is close to the action without being part of the noisy restaurant- and shop area. Close to the long Petra beach. It has room for peace and quiet and closeness to the ocean. We recommend Miramare to families and couples who want homeliness, tranquility, clean rooms and good hosts. We might come back to Miramare.
