29 reviewsThe hotel is a bit outside the main tourists areas of Heringsdorf and Ahlbeck, but it's also a bit cheaper than the hotels directly in these seaside villages. The decor is a bit quirky. The Viking motif hits you in the face with the reception desk as a Viking sailing vessel. The hotel has gone through several renovations since the GDR times. The charm of the GDR is still present, though, in its thinly disguised Plattenbau architecture. The rooms aren't luxurious, but they are adequate, and the beds aren't uncomfortable. All in all, it fits the bill of a 3=star hotel in Germany. Think Ibis. What lifts this hotel a bit from its 3-star rating is its breakfast buffet (lots of variety for such a small hotel) and its beautifully landscaped terrace. If you don't see a parking place in front of the hotel, no worries. There's a parking lot behind the hotel, but you'll need an access card from reception. The ladies at the reception were so friendly. Always a plus.
