Hotelpark Der Westerwald Treff

As we relied on sat nav to get us to the hotel we experienced a little problem, we used the address on the web site " In Der Huth 1, Oberlahr",this address does not register in the nav so we used obelahr as the target the hotel is tucked away in the "bush" off the main road we made a few circuits before we found it. Speaking to the receptionist about our little problem she advised that the correct input for navigation is- 56593 Burdenbach, In Der Huth 1 as shown on their promotional brochures, we pointed out that the web page needed amending. However now to our stay, on arrival we were upgraded to a comfort room, nice and large, easy chairs, writing desk flat screen tv, telephone and assorted standard lamps and pictures on the wall, very cosy . The room appeared have been recently redecorated and the large stenciled murals on the walls were a nice touch. The bathroom with shower and hair dryer was rather small, but then visits are short so not an inconvenience (no pun intended). The food was good, particularly breakfast which would cover all requirements from fry-up to cereals. The staff in all areas were polite and helpful at all times, the receptionist made every effort to confer in English which was helpful due to our lacking in German. The solarium and swimming pool are free to use however we did not make use of them. there is a small bar near the reception area, there is also a Kegel Ban (not to be confused with 10 pin bowling). We found the hotel very clean and well ordered, no complaints. There is very little in the way of attractions away from the hotel (in fact none), but there is ample opportunity for walks to keep you fit. We stayed on a half board basis and found the Stube next door handy for midday snacks and drinks. On the Sunday when there are fewer guests the evening meal is served here, on other days the meals are in the main restaurant buffet style, onthese occasions the lady who we assume was the head of services toured the dining room speaking with guest about their stay, nice touch All in all we enjoyed our stay, In future we will probably find an hotel in a more central location, ie. shops, cafes and a bit of sight seeing. We would recommend this hotel to those who like walking or cycling in a nature area.
