Hotel Deutsches Haus

My husband and I spent 5 nights at Hotel Deutsches Haus, along with our travel companion who had her own room. This place was a “find”! I can’t find one thing to complain about! We stayed for 5 nights in September, so that we could attend the Viehscheid and Almabtrieb festivals in the area. These are the local festivities that highlight the return of the cows from the high Alpine meadows, where they summer. BTW, these festivals were really enjoyable and a fun way to enjoy the local traditions. The Deutsches Haus is well-run by a small group of very friendly/helpful staff. Our room was #102 in the corner with 3 windows. The room was quite spacious, and included a small table with 2 chairs. We appreciated having a separate place to sit. There is free parking, and the hotel is very well located to other services—drug store, grocery store, etc. All of the features of the room functioned well—plumbing, lights, windows, heaters (bathroom and bedroom). There is a very good restaurant/bar on the ground floor of the building, with the hotel occupying the higher floors. This is a hugely popular restaurant, but there was never a problem with noise reaching our rooms. We ate dinner three times, and each of us always had something different that was excellent. We thought the breakfast was very good, and overall a good value for the prices charged. Our friend was similarly happy with her room next door to us (#101).
