Very positive experience in this small Landhaus close to Schluchsee. Our two-room apartment was very clean, well insulated, and directly connected to the breakfast area (the cozy "Cafe Hochgenuss" which is part of the Landhaus). Good breakfast, with a nice selection of both salty and sweet dishes (home made marmalade!). Super friendly owner.
The Landhaus is located just a couple of minute away from some beautiful Cross-country skiing tracks, and approx 5 min (by car) from Schluchsee.

We spent 3 night in this hotel in order to explore the gorgeous Black Forest location.
The hotel is situated just outside of schluchsee and a car is essential for accessing restaurants near by.  On arrival we were greeted by the host who went through the Black Forest guest card with me.  She also showed me the room and went over breakfast and the shared minibar.  She spoke excellent English.
Our family room was perfect with a separate room for the children with its own bathroom.
From the location we explored Triberg, Titisee and furtwagen.
Breakfast was typically German but delicious.
The only draw back is that although the hotel accepts visa/ MasterCard they will add 4.5% charge for the privilege- maestro can be used without charge.
We loved this hotel and we will be sure to return when we next visit the Black Forest.

Stress-free pension in a small village just outside Schluchsee. Quite, small, and comfortable. Take cash to pay for the room and the nice little coffee place the owner runs on the ground floor. Don't forget soap and shower stuff - it's not a hotel. 5 minute drive to Schluchsee.

Relaxed and friendly

This small guesthouse is in a quiet hill village 10 minutes from Schlusee. The staff had limited English but were friendly. Our room was basic and surprisingly it was not serviced once during our 5 day stay. Breakfast was the usual continental offering and very pleasant. After asking several times we were supplied with the guest card which is paid for out of the tourist tax when staying 2 nights or more. This allows free use of public transport and we used it to make the scenic train journey to Freiburg. On departure we were asked to pay for our whole stay in cash as the owner claimed that German banks make a high charge for any type of electronic payment. The booking clearly stated payment could be made by card and this was not amended on arrival. There was no ATM in the village so we had no choice but to pay a €14 supplement which was disappointing.
