This was a clean, basic room to stay inside the city walls. The sign outside was not super obvious, we could have passed it by easily. To "check in" you use a code to open a lockbox in the main hallway to get your key cards, and you get a code for the front door. No elevator, and the stairs are steep. Be prepared to climb. The room was small but perfectly adequate for our needs and the bed was comfortable. We didn't have a fridge but did have an electric kettle. The best recommendation for this guesthouse was it's perfect location. A short walk to basically everything you want to see in Rothenberg obT, including the Christmas Market. There is a bakery on the corner and a grocery store within a slightly longer walk. We also walked from and to the train station with no problem. I would stay here again.

Location, location, location.

We were in the 5th and the kind lady (Edith?) rented us a small apartment on the top floor, with a large bathroom almost at the entrance, a living room and a large room. All in all, it was a convenient and functional solution.

Functional solution

Pension Edith is very well located in the middle of the old town - only a three-minute walk to the market square. A typical of Rothenburg, an older building, but well preserved. Despite the central location quiet thanks to good insulation of the windows. The reception is very friendly, the operator very helpful. This was a relatively large room, with comfortable furniture, fast internet and a good bathroom. The breakfast was good and rich. Overall a good stay.

okay to stay for one night

We we're booked at another village in Germany for the night but decided to venture 2 hours out of our way to visit Rothenburg.  We already had rooms in our original destination and could not get a refund so we we're looking for a nice value priced place, we hit the jackpot with these rooms.  The wifi was not the best but when staying in a medieval city, who stays in the room and surfs the web?  We had a shared bath with the other couple in our group, my daughter and her husband, which worked out fine. Location, location, location, says it all.  If you forgot something at the room or needed an afternoon nap, you are just a short walk from everything.  We did not partake of the breakfast, we enjoyed the coffee shop down the street.  Would definitely recommend if you are visiting Rothenburg.

Value minded stay

I would appreciate the old writing that attracts a lot more local old-style Germany 1970s so more truthful than others more adapted to the romantic idea of Bavaria clean enough cordiality enough good breakfasts paid aside

The Old Writing

It's really very simple and very basic but at the same time clean. The room is small. Excellent location right in the middle of the village. The price was great.

Simple but well positioned

We came in at about 20:00 and were looking for a place stay as a stop over on our way to Italy.
She charged us 160 euros for a room! her attitude is also a bit so so. 
If you come to ask her something she seems bothered.

Nice location but staff so so

We had a "family room" that included two separate bedrooms one for our teenage boys and one for us. The private bath was down the hall, but only shared by our family. This worked out perfectly. We didn't eat breakfast at the restaurant...there is a very nice café with coffee and pastries down the street about 100 yards away. 

Great place to stay right in the middle of Rothenburg!

Here are some of the details for this stay

Location:  Just off of the center of Rothenburg.  This hotel is pretty much in the middle of everything

Parking:  NO parking at the hotel, the only option is public parking.  In Rothenburg parking in public areas for hotel residents seamed like it was the norm though.  Public parking did cost us 10 euro a day.  We purchased our parking ticket from the hotel lobby.

Air conditioning:  As per most non chain hotels in Germany there was no air conditioning.  Although this hotel did have a fan in our room which was very welcoming during a hot July night.

Internet access:  The only option was Rothenburg public internet service.  It was free but the service was poor.  

Breakfest:  Available with a charge, but due to our schedule we skipped it.

Room:  We had a room on a high floor.  The room was modern, new, and clean.  We were in the family suite so the kids were in another room.  The bathroom was also clean and seamed recently updated.

Would i stay there again,  Sure the lady at the front desk was very nice, and we felt welcomed.  Just wished the internet was a bit better
